Does anyone know how much these cost at WDW? Does it vary from place to place?? What's the cheapest?? And is it fun? I'm thinking about getting one of these done when my friend and I go in March!

There is a location by Ghiradellias (maybe spelled wrong) in Downtown Disney that does a great job!! It was expensive - over $50 bucks - but it was worth it. The artist did take a long time - but he did a great job!! I highly recommend it as a souvenier.

DH and I had it done in DD (yes, near Ghiradellis) and it came out awful. For the $ we spent we were disappointed.

It's been a couple of years, but we had our DKs done in the Contemporary outside of the Steakhouse. The artist was wonderful and did each in pencil and then black marker. We framed them and they still hang in our living room today. They cost ~ $20.00 each. I think it really comes down to the talent of the individual artist. We watched him do several before we decided.

We had color ones done at the WL in front of the gift shop. I think they were around $35??? VERY talented artist, too.

We had DGD's done in the lobby at AKL. It was under $20. Doesn't look a thing like her, though!

We had DD's done in front of the Brown Derby in MGM. The artist did a fabulous job. He first had her sit on my lap to get her face profile and then he drew the rest of the picture to match what she was doing at the time (which was running back and forth between me and daddy). It came with a frame and was like only $15.00 or $20.00. I plan on getting another one this year since it was my favorite souvenir.

My parents had one done of DD in the lobby of PO-FQ one evening. It turned out great, and I don't remember it costing as much as the ones at DTD.

We were there around our anniversary and my husband had one each of my DS and DD done outside the Brown Derby. Wonderful!!! Framed and all I think it cost around $15 (several years ago). Still, for a purchase at that cost that is that special is a steal at Disney!

My advice is to watch the artist do a couple and see what you think before committing. This artist at BD did the kids' while we were waiting for our PS time (about 15 minutes).

Also, another fav of mine are the silhouettes (sp?). We had our kids (together) done at France in Epcot. It was cheaper to get 2 as they can cut them together (maybe?). So we got one for us and one from my mom. This was done about 7 years ago. I plan to get another in Feb and hang with our old one. DS (14) should love that! Ha!
