Anyone stayed there? Wondering if is better to stay there instead of a value disney resort??

We LOVE caribe royale!

I highly recommend it! Mousesavers is now offering a $30 per day food and beverage credit in addition to the room rate discount.

It's very convenient to the parks, and has a fantastic pool.

I don't think you'd be disappointed with the caribe. It offers a lot more than a disney value.

Is the shuttle convenient? Food looks expensive there. And is it closer than a value resort?

The food at the pool side snack bar was reasonable, I think. A hot dog and fries last year was something like $6. We did not eat at any of the other onsite restaurants.

You get a large sized mini fridge and a micro in the room, so it's really easy to make sandwiches and such if you are trying to save money.

I don't know about the shuttle because we never used it. However, they do post the schedule online so you can get an idea of the timings.

We love the Caribe too, but I don't know if I would stay there without a car.

Value resorts are on Disney property, whole different ball game than staying here. I have stayed and it was nice but I wouldn't be staying without a car. You can cross the street to a couple places to eat but other than that there is nothing close by to get to. We did not eat there.

I agree. We got it for a last minute trip. We did a secret deal on hotwire and got it for around $80 a night! It's a great resort, just not Disney. We had a car and did not rely on transportation. I don't think I would stay off property without a car. I am spoiled by onsite accomodations :-) I will put it like this, had Pop Century and the Caribe been the same price, I would have gone with Pop. Unfortunately since it was last minute the WDW resorts were rack rate.

We basically had always stayed on WDW property. We did stay here with the $30/night food credit last fall. We had the 2 bedroom and it was great. We were with 7 total and the room was really a blessing as well as the washer/dryer and full kitchen. The cost was much less than the family value offering at WDW (which we have stayed at as well) plus much more room. With a car about the same distance from parks as the value resorts. We drive as of recent as well so no difference for us. Parking can be an added cost without an AP though. That does add to the cost if not using shuttle (which we did not) The same offer is now available with the $30/night food credit.
