Has anyone stayed here? Mousesavers has a great rate for a suite with breakfast. How would you rate the hotel? Is it close to Disney?

I would go to their website and take a look. I know Mary is VERY picky about the hotels she recommends. She didn't like the BW in DD and I thought it was fine. I'm sure Caribe Royal is great. I personally wouldn't stay offsite without renting a car. With the great deal for a suite, you would probably also save on breakfast and snacks, so I would look into renting a car.

I always rent a car because I like to be able to come and go when I want. Plus my trip includes IOA and USF.

We have stayed at the Caribe Royale three times now and have enjoyed each stay. It's great to have a separate sitting room w/couch, table, tv, etc. The sink/mirror vanity is outside of the bathroom which is a big plus for our family. We used the fridge and microwave daily. Everything is so close no matter which tower you stay in. The pool is great, as is the water slide. our ds is 8 and dd is 6 and they loved the pool almost as much as the parks! The drive to MK is very close and a Walgreens is right across the street for those last minute items. The buffet breakfast is a wonderfully hot meal with just about everything you could think of to eat. They have choc. milk for the kids by request. The rate Mary has gotten for Mousesavers readers is a deal. the best rate I ever received was $125/night and that was hard to find. Call for their rack rates and you'll see the big savings. I would highly recommend the Caribe. We stayed at the Poly last year for the first time but stayed at the Caribe the 3 years prior. Let me know if you have any questions!

I agree with ZuZUgal... last Dec. my fiance and I stayed at the CR for one night and loved it... the room was extremely clean, bathroom was a nice size and loved having the sink and mirror outside so we could do double primping. The first half of the suite is a living room with fold out couch I believe and if I remember correctly there are 2 tv's (one in the front room and one in the bed room). When we checked in we got vouchers for the breakfast buffet but didn't make it down before it was over :(

It's located about 5 min. from DD and is easy to get to plus it's located by 417 (i think that's the name of it) which is a "back" entrance to the airport. All in all it's in a great location if you have a car you can easily access DD, I-4, and International Drive. Hope this was helpful... :)

My two teenagers and myself stayed at the Caribe Royale in Dec 2001 over Christmas...it is a great hotel...very easy to get to from the airport if you are driving...the breakfast buffet has scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, french toast or pancakes, grits, hash browns, danish, or crossaints, orange juice, milk, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cold cereal...well worth the price of the stay... there is a game room the kids enjoyed at night when we weren't at the park or downtown disney....our room like the others had 2 qeen beds and a pull out couch in the living room...two tv's...microwave and refrigerator...a few stores located across the street...not a bad drive to any of the disney parks or to downtown disney...you hop on the road out front of the hotel and you are on the road that disney is located on...i enjoyed having a car and being able to go where i wanted to without having to wait on the bus system...we really enjoyed our trip hop you enjoy yours....:D :D
