I stayed there several years ago and it was nice. I think it's all suites and for $99 you get a living area w/ refrigerator, bathroom, and bedroom. We had no problems with it at all. The pool was nice too. It's not super-luxurious or anything, but it was clean, well-priced, and great for us!

I am staying with my wife at this hotel in Late July/Early Aug for a couple days while she is on a work trip. Planning on hitting up the Theme parks for the days I am there. How is the shuttle Service at this hotel? What is the easiest way to get to the Non-Disney Parks from here?

Have never stayed at the resort but it does house a favorite dining spot. The Venetian Room. Imho it is one of the more romantic fine dining establishments in the area. Victoria and Albert's still tops the list but it really is a hidden gem. AAA 4Diamond $$$$.
Enjoy your stay

I stayed in a one bedroom suite at the Caribe Royale last summer for a work conference. I found the decorating and quality level to be similar to that of a Hampton Inn or a Marriott Courtyard. The living area which you walk into from the hall was dark (no windows) and it struck me as a little rundown and not as clean (I wouldn't have wanted to bunk in there on the pull-out), but the bedroom and bathroom were both fine. Having the living area as a buffer from the hallway was also a great buffer for a light sleeper.

You might want to keep in mind that there is a large conference center adjacent to the hotel. I was there with a very large group and I felt we fairly took over the place. If I had been there with a family or on a couples vacation that week I think I would have felt overrun by the conference, so you might want to inquire on whether any large groups are expected when you'll be there if you care about that.

I didn't eat at the restaurants since I was with a group, but the food served at the conference was very good. We used group transportation for outings and travel time to the parks was good.

Thank you so much for your input. I'm not too concerned about conventions because we'll be hitting the parks early in the morning and won't return until late at night. Basically, we're just looking for a decent place to sleep.

All right....now I'm really concerned after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. They were awful! I think I'm going to continue looking for a two bedroom suite elsewhere. Once I find something, I'll cancel the Caribe Royale. The reviews are scary!

We spent one night there in Dec. Now to be honest we had just spent 6 nights at the CR, so we were spoiled, but I really was not thrilled with the place.

We spent the night of 12/28, so we paid through the nose for the one night. We are a family of 5, so the pullout had to be used and it was awful. The noise from the hall was LOUD, and constant.

The furnishings were really run down, and the carpet was worn. The bathroom was in serious need of new fixtures and an over all redo. The pictures on the internet make it look very spacious, but in reality, it isn't. The area where the two beds are seemed slightly smaller than a regular hotel room and the other room was tiny.

We didn't eat at any of the restaurants, so I can't speak to those. I will say the pool was very pretty and even though it was cool out, my oldest really enjoyed taking a swim in the evening. The pool was heated and comfortable. It seemed to be the best thing about the hotel.

I am so happy that I've been reading these boards. Otherwise we could very well have been stuck in a completely unsuitable hotel. Not what we had in mind for our one and only special trip to WDW with our grandchildren. Thanks to the readers on this board, I have re-considered my reservation at the Caribe Royale. I have cancelled and booked two rooms at the CSR and having stayed there before, I know what we're getting....a well-run hotel that's maintained the way I expect it to be. :thumbsup2

Beth,

I think that is a good move.

We stayed at the Caribe for 1 night in October and it would rank fair to poor for me.

Both the kiddie pool and the hot tub were closed for maintence. The room was clean, but the furnishings were worn.

The living area with the pull out couch was dark and small. It really didn't feel much like a suite, just a cut-up hotel room. For 2 adults it would be great, but not enough space for a family.

There was a party at the pool that night that was loud and kept my kids up.

On the plus side though, the staff was professional and very courteous!
