Caribe Royale vs Shades of Green

DH is going to Orlando on a business trip, staying at Caribe Royale. We'll be joining him near the end of his stay (me and DD, who is 17 years). We've always stayed at SOG, and enjoy it, but his rate at CR is comparable (even considering the room tax). I went ahead and booked for SOG, just to have the ressie, but not sure if we should move to SOG or stay at CR. We will have a car, but I can't really gather from the website how close or far CR is from everything. I know we'll have to pay to park at the parks if we stay at CR, but SOG charges a $5/day parking fee so that's almost a wash. Any input would be wonderful and welcome! Thank you.

How long are you staying at Caribe? Do you have the following option without cancelation penalty:

If you (or your husband) get there and like it, stay and cancel SOG. If you get there and hate it, move.

DH also has a conference at Caribe Royale and wondering if we should stay there. His boss and coworkers are staying at Embassy Suites so wondering if there's a problem with CR? Reviews on Trip Advisor look good. We also own DVC but there's no availability our dates.

I've stayed at Caribe Royale and thought it was really nice - it's probably the best off-site near Disney hotel I've stayed at.

Cancellation policy at SOG is 30 days, so we have to decide before he gets there...

Do you mean location to everything Disney or everything Orlando? SOG is right next to Polynesian, so I always thought it was super convenient. Is CR more so?

What are the shuttles to the parks like from Caribe?

I've stayed at both. SOG is the best choice, no doubt about it. Rooms are about the same, but SOG's lobby is nicer, it has more amenities, and the food is so reasonably priced, as is the little shop. Plus, you can walk to the monorail and grab a snack at the Poly or watch the fireworks from the dock there if you want to get out of the Magic Kingdom crowd. Anyone who has the ability to stay at SOG should appreciate it.

I have stayed at both and we will definitely stay at SOG again but not Caribe.
