What is the official Disney pronunciation of Caribbean? Is it Cari-bean or Carib-ean?Thanks.:)

i'm pretty sure i've only heard it as kare-uh-bee-en

but all in all, i'm sure it doesn't matter.

after all, it existed long before disney did.

Don't know about Disney, but certainly in my country, which is in the Caribbean, it is pronounced CaribbEan (empahsis on the "a" and the "e"). It is named after the Caribs, who were the first inhabitants of the region. To me it makes more sense to pronounce the word "carib" and then add on "bean", rather than say Caribbean with the emphasis in the "i".

But hey, even within our region there are differences in pronounciation, so either way is probably acceptable.

I'm glad you asked that because they pronounce it "Carib-ean"as in Pirates of the Caribbean, but when I see the CBR mentioned on resort videos, don't they say it the other way?

well now that you mention it, it does seem like CBR is pronounced differently than POTC. at least i know i pronounce them differently. it just sounds odd when i apply the POTC pronunciation to CBR.
