which would you pick? is any easier for transportation? do we need a car for the week? are they all currently open?
HELP - more cruisers are getting sick on this current cruise
it would take 2yrs of points to stay at a deluxe?

At this point, considering the short notice, I would just wing it and take whatever is available.

How long are you going to be in your room anyhow?

Go for broke and stay top o the line!

Hey is your DH more intrested in the WDW vacation than he was with the cruise?

Personally I'd still go on the cruise and maybe I'd stick to bottled water and I'd wash my hands often. I guess I like to live dangerously.

As for the Moderates, they are all pretty good. Our family really likes Coronado because we spend alot of time in EPCOT and you can get a direct bus from behind the Boardwalk hotel. My kids love the pool there also. But the other Mods are nice too. I don't think their is a bad choice.

You'll really just have to call and see which hotel has openings.

SOmething I really, really don't understand.....

are they all currently open?

That's twice you've asked about room availibilty. Do DISers have some sort of magic 8 ball that says when the resorts are full or empty? Just call (and in case yo dont have the number 407-WDISNEY) and find out.

I'd also not be picky and take whatever moderate was available.

If you don't think you're going to use the points on anything else, yes -- I would splurge for a deluxe. Either the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, myself. But if you think you're going to use the points later, stick with a moderate.

If you have your pick of the moderates, I'd pick Port Orleans Riverside (aka Dixie Landings). I just think it's the nicest of the moderates. But, really, all of the moderates I've stayed at have been nice. :)

Well CBR won't be an option for you because it is being refurbished right now. I would probably pick either CSR or PO-French Quarter, but those are just my tastes. I am surprised Disney isn't taking care of this for you though because I was under the impression that they did this for the people on the last cruise if they decided not to go on the cruise but to opt for a week at WDW. Personally I would probably just stick to the cruise and practice as best hygine as possible if you can.

I think I would still try and do the cruise. Whats a little stomach flu? Just wash your hands a lot, and don't do anything nasty with the crew and you will be fine

If all else fails, I think I would pick Coranado Springs, it looks pretty cool.

Have fun!!!!!

You probably will get better answers and more specifics on the trip planning boards.

1 bedroom

OKW=215 pts
VWL=262
BWV=214 standard 262 preferred
BCV=262

Better than any moderate.I know ,from this thread, that you have 315 points to blow.So whats the problem?

BTW

Animal Kingdom Lodge savannah view is only 274 pts.I bet you can get a room there.

Since they were used to reserve the cruise, these points cannot be used for a DVC resort. Once you take DVC points to book outside, they can't go back. This cruise situation is an extreme circumstance, DVC may make some exceptions but the DVC resorts are probably booked solid for next week, the first 2 weeks of December are popular at DVC resorts because it's the lowest season.

Ok,but there are still deluxe resorts that are within her point range for her stay.Every board I open I see a thread about her cruise and wondering where she is going to sleep. I see one more and I'll book the room for her myself.

I was noticing the same thing myself. Everyone knows you're going, that the cruise might be cancelled, and that you don't know where your'e going to stay if it is cancelled. Enough already!
