Just as we've booked (Me DW and DS) for 2014, so DD has now booked to go next May with her Boyfriend. They are staying at CBR with dining plan, and flying with Virgin.

Does anyone have any advice on Caribbean Beach ? Such as best room locations as I understand CBR is massive. They will be reliant on Disney transportation as they are not having a car.

It is massive but you're never more than a few minutes walk from Old Port Royale and the Disney transport does a loop of the property stopping at each "Island".

We stayed in Trinidad South which is probably the furthest away but it never felt like a hike to get a meal.

We stayed in Jamaica in Aug 2008, first stop for buses to most of the parks. Walk over the bridge to centre (Port Royal?). We often get off here on the way back, pick up a snack & walk back across the bridge. Friends were staying in Barbados which was a short walk to centre.

We stayed at CBR in 2008. It is my personal favourite in the Moderate category. We stayed in Trinidad which is one of the furthest away from the main building, but we walked it every morning for breakfast and it wasn't bad at all. Our bus stop was literally down a flight the steps from our room and buses were regular and problem free.

you forgot to mention if they booked a special type of room, such as Pirate's room, or preferred.
pirates will only be in trinidad south (the furthest away from OPR) and preferred will only be in the 2 villages closest to OPR

a special type of room might limit the places you can request.

Stayed at CBR from Jan 1st to 15th this year. Was in Jamaica 43 and walk over bridge to Old Port Royale was less than 10 mins. Albeit a relatively quiet time but buses were never busy, more often than not less than a dozen people on board. The buses tend to do one of two loops either coming in by Jamaica or via the main entrance depending on where they're coming from - the loop around the resort probably adds on about 10-15 minutes.
Standard fare in the food court - can't really say anything more than that.
Would say the rooms are definitely in need of the upcoming refurb, ours was looking a little tired. Main pool was good and there's the quiet pools at each "Island" as well as a small beach area.
Can't fault the resort but to me it just didn't have that wow factor - but I guess that's where the deluxes come in !
