Not two days ago we finally paid off the balance on this years holiday. And with my better half being her usual lunatic self she now wants to book for next year. Yes you heard that right, just finished paying and she's looking for 2011.
So our(her) plan would be to go late November early December next year, and she's got it in her head that the Carribean beach resort is the one . So has anyone been recently and if so what did they think.
We(she) is looking at booking a preffered location whatever that means, is this worth the extra money.

I've not stayed at CBR, but if I were to book a mod I think I'd go for the extra for a preferred location, as they can be big and spread out, and preferred usually means closer to bus stops/pool.main building. :)

I think all of the Mods look fab! Just don't let her do what I do and over research into all the hotels or she'll end up changing her mind every day! :faint:

Nothing crazy about planning this early! I have had October's trip booked for well over a year!!! :rotfl: and have already booked next years. She is one of us . . . I already know what I'm doing in 2012 and 2013!!!!!!

Personally I didn't care much for CBR - just found it way too big and impersonal. We gave up using the refillable mugs we were so far from the food court (we didn't have a preferred location!)My recommendation for a mod would be French Quarter - absolutely love it. Compact, beautiful, friendly staff, and the free boat to DTD! I would always stay there if I had the choice!

Stayed at cbr 2 years ago in preferred location Martinique. Loved cbr even the though we didn't have the use if main pool as it was being upgraded but then again I love all the resorts

I came close to booking the CBR last year. I really like the theming and yes, it is spread out but it really looks great. I think we will pop over and visit this year to check it out. ;)

I do want to point out however that at the values, a preferred room means a location closer to the main building, bus stop, etc. At the mods, a preferred room is usually a preferred view, and does not necessarily mean you will be anywhere remotely near to the main buildings. You need to check exactly what a preferred room (with extra charge) means at your resort of choice. Usually at the mods, you can request a standard view room in a building near to the bus/food court, etc for no extra cost, although it is not guaranteed that requests will be met. YOu may want to check with your DW exactly what she is wanting with the preferred room. I suspect she is probably fully aware and has read up on it all, if she has her heart set on it. :goodvibes

We stayed at CBR for our recent trip and we booked a preferred set of adjoining rooms in the Martinique building. I am really glad we booked preferred because the resort is huge and our building was in a good location in relation to the main building where food/shopping is located (Port Royale). For us, it was worth the extra money because no one in our group was too keen on a long trek to breakfast.

The resort overall has a nice tropical feel and if we are unable to go deluxe in May 2011, then we will try to book the same CBR location again.
