Caribbean Beach Resort not as popular?

CBR is great. I think because it was the first moderate resort built, people may have gotten a little bored with it. I stayed there in 1999 and loved it. My wife liked it but she liked Pop better (which is good for me because Pop is cheaper). We were far away from the main pool and food court and she didn't like that.

The only negative thing I could say about CBR is that the main pool is kind of small for a resort that size. Although each section has their own private pool, I think they could have made the (main pool) much bigger. Other then that I think this resort is beautiful and I would stay there again in a heart beat.

I have been paying closer attention to which WDW resorts people choose to stay at. Is it my imagiantion, or is The Caribbean Beach Resort not as popular as the other resorts? Just curious! :confused3 :confused3

Not that I noticed. In fact, I was mulling around the idea of going to CB if I decided to ever do a moderate because no matter what park I was at it always seemed that there was always a bus for the CB (like every five minutes!). Try staying at Pop Century and wait for a bus and see if a Caribbean Beach bus doesn't show up. :rotfl2:

I hope it is as nice as it looks. We just booked it for our first trip since we were kids for our 10th Ann.

That's interesting and good to know since I reserved Pop but what is it about POP that makes your wife prefer it over CBR?

Hi,

Love CBR!! It was where we stayed the 1st time @ WDW in 2001!!!!

We stayed at CBR this past January and simply fell in love with the resort. By far the best resort our family has ever stayed in. The only reason we are staying at POP for our next trip is because we will be there twice as long, and got 2 rooms this time so the boys no longer have to share a bed. Otherwise, we would definitely be going back to CBR. :earsboy:

Didn't care for our stay at CBR. The resort was too large and CM's seemed to be unfriendly.

Glad to hear the positive reviews. I am staying there for the first time in about 3 weeks. If I get Trinidad South should I really ask to be moved? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
It seems like the least popular location. If I didn't read these boards I wouldn't know any better. But I also don't mind walking. I like being further away from people.

I was surprised my wife liked Pop as much as she did. We always stayed at a moderate and this our first value. When I showed her a picture of Pop Century she said she thought it looked cheesy. So I was very surprised she liked it as much as she did. I really liked Pop too. The Pictures don't do it justice. To see it in person for the first time is a great experience. Everything is so colorful and it really put us in a good mood.

My wife really identifies with the 60s (the section we stayed in). They played 60s music all day and I think it really put her in the mood. We enjoyed sitting at the Hippie Dippie Pool and having some cocktails at the outdoor pool bar. Having said all that, every resort I stayed in I liked very much. They all have different things that set them apart (so to say one resort is better then the other is just a matter of tastes.)

I personally don't think you can go wrong as long as you are on property.

This is one of the few resorts we returned to on a different trip. We always rent a car so we don't rely on internal bus system. We do that for all resorts, just in case we want to hit a grocery store or beach for a day. We will go back to CBR again.

My dh and I took our 7 and 9 year old boys to CBR in May of 2005 and my boys LOVED the pool slide. What I liked was that this was a family resort and there was so may kids and parents around, also plenty of life guards. Last year we stayed at the Dolphin (in Feb., 04) and every time we went to the pool the slide was closed and not too many kids around. My boys also loved the game room at CBR and they liked the beaches too. We did not get a chance to go to the playgrounds but there is plenty for kids to do at CBR. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful vacation.

We love CBR - it was where we stayed for our first trip in 2002 and I will definately return. We stayed at POFQ this past May and I really liked it but to be honest I just like CBR better.

We were at WDW in April and stayed at POP(enjoyed it there too). But we did decide before our vacation was finished we are staying at CBR on our next return. My DH and I are not the type to hang out at beaches but we love tropical settings(colors, music etc.). My 5 yr old DS is interested in visiting a beach so we can't wait for our next trip. I read everything that is posted about CBR. Just like our planning before POP I read negative reviews about POP. We loved it. We are at Disney what could be more fun than that. I love all the photos posted of CBR. So thanks to all the fans of CBR. Our next trip might not be until Thanksgiving 2007 so we thought a moderate might be best to enjoy the resort if parks become too crowded.

I really enjoyed my stay at CBR in November 2001. We were in Trinadad North and had an easy walk to the bus stop and the OPR. We walked around the property to see the new rooms that were being renovated in the far reaches of Barbados and I thought those buildings were way to far away from everything. I would stay at CBR again, (after "collecting" by last moderate, PO) but only if I paid for a preferred room near the OPR. Between CBR and POFQ, I have to say that I like POFQ better because it is smaller. I will be staying at CSR in just a couple of weeks :).
