How were the crowds?

Let me just say- 2 things I was overcompensating for in my mind were crowds and the size of CBR. I over anticipated the size of both. Crowds were VERY manageable! No problems at all! And since there was a quick shower about 3 days during the week we popped right out the minute the rain stopped and walked on to things like Mission Space and Peter Pan. Also, CBR was very large, but not quite as large as I expected as far as the number of rooms x the number of people. We always found seats in the food court and swam only in the main pool with no probs at all.

but let me just say that we shared our DME bus with the Swan and Dolphin and were last dropped off and its was no biggie at all!

you shared DME w/swan/dolphin? i did not know they were eligible for DME? is this something new? (does anyone know?)

I am gonna say they must be.. becasue we stopped at both resorts before CBR so I actually physically saw them- each hotel only had one family dropping off but they were def there

Long story.

No, Swan/Dolphin guests can't use DME. However ....

Mears is the subcontractor for buses/drivers for both DME and Disney Cruise Line. When the demand is there, Mears is permitted to serve both at the same time. Also, many people who do a land and sea package stay at Swolphin, and are entitled to DCL transportation.

So there are occasions when DME and DCL passengers might be on the same bus either coming or going.

But someone who just books a room at Swolphin can't use DME, no way no how.

I haven't been on in a few days so I went back a few pages. On page 120 it stated that Aruba building 51 was a former smoking building. Has anyone stayed there since the renovation? Could you tell that it was a former smoking room? I had requested that building but can't stand cigerette smell.
I'm wondering if I should request another location.
Thanks!

Does anyone have a picture og a CBR mug?
I am about to upload a bunch of CBR pics for you guys, so I will try and get a picture with the YOAMD mugs too!

We stayed in Martinique building 26 and it was a smoking building... you could not tell in ANY way whatsoever! Clean, neat, sweet smelling... no worries!

We doubled up in the Sea Raycer and it was a lot of fun- also, for whoever it was that asked we are holding our YOAMD mugs in the pic of me and my boyfriend on the beach in the first post. I can take a picture if youd like, though, I still have it at home!

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

CBR rocks!

Thanks for the great pictures!
What was the longest wait time for a ride? What ride was it?

I am so worried that the lines are going to be horrible in 26 days!

We didn't find the waits to be too long... the longest line we waited on was about 50 minutes for Splash Mountain, everything else we just fast passed early and scooted around onto other shorter wait rides while we were waiting. Never really had ANY wait problems at all. It was hit or miss and just a tip: during thunderstorms, be the first people back out on the street when they end-- we literally walked onto Mission: Space because we happened to be leaving the Land minutes after rain had stopped one day. Also, be aware of the times schedule-- head towards areas that have shows going on during the show to do the other rides or character greetings.

Just back from a wonderful trip to CBR!
Checkin at CBR was a breeze-friendly CM who got us off to a great start! We went to the parks and when we returned to CBR at 2pm, our room was ready and luggage was there when we opened the door.

Stayed in Martinique building 25 and it was well worth it! I could not imagine staying in Trinidad South or other areas that are quite a walk although when talking with other guests, they didn't seem to mind the walk. We preferred to be so close to OPR, bus stop, and pools.

Room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was so great we actually had to turn it down at times! This was nice for us since I absolutely hate when the air turns off in hotel rooms due to lack of motion in the rooms!
Mousekeeping was wonderful always leaving us extra towels and towel animals. So cute!

OPR was much better than I remembered it from our trip back in 2000. The food was good to great! Really enjoyed the omelettes for breakfast! No matter what time of day it was, we never had to wait very long for food, to pay, or to find a table in the food court. Refills in our mugs were convenient and definitely saved us money on drinks.

The buses were very good. We never waited more than 10 minutes, usually less than 5. The buses were only packed on the nights we left a park at closing, and that was to be expected but we always got lucky and had a seat. Even waiting for the bus to make it around all the villages was not bad. It went by fast and didn't cause us any problems making it to parks or ADRs on time.

If you are staying at CBR for your next trip you will realy love it. The CMs were super friendly and I really can't say any negative about this resort. We really had a great experience at CBR!

Love the photos! CBR is a fav resort :)

A CM friend mentioned that the former smoking rooms were supposed to be refurbed with fresh paint, new curtains, new shower curtains and new beds/bedspreads ~ wondering if you found this to be the case?

Thanks!!:flower3:

For at least the past few years, Aruba 51 was the only smoking building; now there are zero. I can't remember how far back it would need to be when Martinique 26 was a smoking-optional building.

ThinkTink -- love your photos. Thanks for posting --- I can't wait!!!
