Glad someone helped you. The information can be found on the front page of this FAQ along with other helpful CBR information.

I had the same question. I've read on a few postings that some people "didn't feel comfortable" in walking from CBR to Epcot? Not sure what they meant, too far or not safe??? :confused3

Can you walk from the CBR to Epcot? How far is it or how long does it take?

I have never walked to Epcot, IMHO it is way too far to walk. I would think you would have to take Buena Vista Drive and walk from there to the Boardwalk Resort and then from the Boardwalk to the International Gateway (Epcot entrance that is located inbetween France and the UK in the Worldshowcase) and enter Epcot from there. CBR offers bus transportation that will bring you to the front of Epcot where the main entrance is located (ideally, where you want to be when the park opens in the morning :teeth: ).

Look at this map (from 2004) it will give you a better idea:

Oh My, I am sooooooooooooo excited. Just planned our first trip to Disney and CBR. We are going June 8 - 14th. Is that a good time to go???? I got a preferred room and hope and pray that we will be close to the main big pool. Should I request a certain building, if we booked a preferred room??? We have two children 10 and 4 and I know we will use the big pool alot.......

Disney is not set up for walkers. Sure you can do it but drivers aren't looking out for walkers and there aren't sidewalks. I would take the bus.

KCS, if you paid for a preferred location you will be close to the main pool and food court. The quiet pools are great for kids too since you usually have very few people in them.

KCR, you and your kids are going to LOVE CBR! I was there last April with my DS14 and DS11, and they absolutely loved CBR! In fact, although we've been to WL and AKL before, they insist that CBR is where we are going on our next trip.

Make sure your kids check out the boat rentals (the 14-year-old is old enough to drive them -- they have to be 12 yrs old at CBR -- but the 10-year-old could ride along). Also, they'll love the food court, white-sand beaches, and hammocks. We also had a preferred location, and it was great. Take time to walk the 1.4-mile Promenade walkway around the lake... it's just beautiful. We spent nearly every afternoon just relaxing at the resort as a break from the parks. A vacation within your Disney vacation!

 I was asked to my thoughts from another post onto this thread and I completely forgot about it until today.

We stayed at the CBR back in November and for 10 nights and we absolutely loved it!!

We were in Martinique building 23. It was the farthest building in Martinique from the food court but it wasn't too bad. (when I got there I requested to be close to the food court as my mom has some health issues. I didn't realize when I asked for it that this was the preferred location. I am even more thrilled that we were put there and they didn't give me a hard time or charge me any more. I felt bad after I found out that this was a preferred bldg.)

My mother made the comment that this room was cleaner than the hospital room I was in when I had my son!!

Bus service was fantastic. We never waited for more than a few minutes each day. They also have a great internal bus service and we used that quite a bit!

I think you will enjoy it!!!

I have actually booked my trip for next november/december and asked for bldg. 26 since it is right next to the food court / bus stop (I paid the preferred price with no problem!!).

Just curious..We have booked a preferred room also. What would we use the internal buses for?Where exactly do they take you? :)

The internal busses stop at each one of the islands (Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, Trinidad North, and Trinidad South) and Old Port Royale. At CBR the Custom House (front desk/bell services/guest services) is seperate from the Resort so if you needed to head there for anything you could walk there or take the internal shuttle to Barbados and walk across the street to the Custom House.

I just read (sorry on another site) that CBR is getting a new childrens adventure like the pirate cruise that goes out of the Grand Floridian. Its called New Islands of the Caribbean Adventure Cruise. It is suppost to start on Tuesday February 7 for children ages 4-10. Safety Mom--do you know anything about this yet? Wonder where all these little pirates will go too?? pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I read in my All Ears Weekly Newsletter about this program also. Unfortunately for us, Tuesday is the one day that we can't change our schedule. I'm hoping that it's a success and they start offering it more days before July.

My DS12 and I just read about the Adventure Cruise as well...and was a little bummed he's too old! It looks like a lot of fun! I'm sure this will attract some families to CBR!!

I called about reservations (since we switched our trip to CBR). I thought I'd try to move things around since the kids loved the Pirate Cruise at the GF. The CM at the marina told me they are only taking reservations through February 7th and this is "trial run" to see how they do. Hope lots of folks find out about it and book it so they will continue it when we get there in July.

does anyone have a link or a copy of the text? It sounds like DS8 would love this. I was going to sign him up for the one at GF, but we will be staying at CBR so this would be better.

I too called this morning to try to book for April & was told it was only bookable for Feb 7th right now. This would be perfect

Here is a copy of the text giving details from AllEarsNet.

New Islands of the Caribbean Adventure Cruise: Beginning Tuesday, February 7, 2006, there will be a new children's adventure at the Caribbean Beach Resort. This new cruise, for pirates ages 4-10, will leave from the Barefoot Bay Boat Yard every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., with check-in starting at 9 a.m. Children must be potty-trained to participate. The cruise lasts for two hours, and costs $30. A lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a juice drink, and Gummy Bears, Rice Krispie Treats or Goldfish will be served. To sign up, call Barefoot Bay Boat Yard Marina at 407-934-2850.
