we are supposed to be leaving on tues. feb. 14 the by amtrak to disney. arriving on the 15th. right now i had 2 rooms booked at all stars, cause my dd was asking a friend. but now we find out it will prob. be me DH,DD so i am debating whether to move from all stars (although when i called we had a pin or code with our name, so the price is good ) to CBR . i really would like to stay here (DH wants to stay at AKL....) it will cost about 350 - 400 more to move to CBR, but im thinking i dont know when we will we be back. we usually go in oct or aug. this is spure of the moment trip, i really want to get away from it all..............haha . i am taking dd out of school and then of course we will have CROWDS im sure for vacation week . we leave for home 2/ 22 on wed. so i dont know whether to move up , or save money for dinners , etc.............i really really want to stay here.......thanks for advice............

If you want to get away from it all there is no better palce than CBR. It really has a great tropical theme to it (think lots of pools, hammocks on the beach, water craft for rental). The rooms are a good size too and CBR has great bus service (plus they don't share with any other resort). Call CRO tomorrow and ask about availablity with your pin code. If you can get availablity with your pin code I would take it and cancel the All-Stars rooms.

catbertdave99, when I was there over the weekend I enjoyed CBR for all those that wished they could be there. :)

If you can swing it to visit CBR, by all means DO IT! You will love CBR! We do! When we were there last April, I really needed to "get away from it all" -- and CBR was wonderful -- it's a vacation within your vacation!

Safetymom--Thanks so much for the new photos and maps. We are staying at CBR for the first time in April and I did have some concerns about the size. After reading all of the great information here, we are getting really excited! :cool1: I'm sure we will love this resort! Only 94 days to go!!!

Just wondering the size, style, and design of the refillable mugs at the CBR. I've seen mugs with little mermaid characters and others with Mickey. I'm hoping they have Mickey ones when I am there next month! :)

Thank you for the reply re: the mugs. I was hoping those Mickey ones were the current ones, since I love all things Mickey. I had also seen a different CBR designed mug, so I wasn't sure which was current or if you had 2 design choices.

You have a choice of the small bottom that will fit in a cup holder or the larger base as shown in the pics.

A questions about the mugs... We were at CBR 4 years ago and purcheased 2 mugs. Are they still good to use or do we need to buy new ones?

Can't wait this is our 3rd trip WDW and alsways stayed at CBR. Home a way from home I guess

We just decided to plan a holiday trip to WDW...Dec 23rd thru Jan 3rd! I would love love to stay at CBR but not sure about this trip. We've previously stayed at ASSports and it was fine but the room was small (get what you pay for)...it will be myself, dh, ds(5) & dd(4) - with the Christmas season and weather we may not get to really use the pool/beach aspect of this resort...right?

Also, how much larger are the rooms at CBR than the AllStars?

Thanks so much for any advice/info!

Me and my DH will be at CBR May 5 for 8nts. I really wanted preferred, but it was not available. We usually go in the fall, this is our first spring trip.
Do the smaller pools have hot tubs?
What time do the internal busses start running.

Thanks so much, I am so glad I found this thread.

travelgoddess,

The village pools do not have hot tubs. The only hot tub is the one by the main pool.

I'm not sure the exact time the internal busses start running...my guess would be that it can vary depending on the time of year, but I know that while waiting for the busses to the parks in the am that they were running by 8:15 or so.

Yes you will need to purchase new mugs. The mugs are good only for the trip on which you purchased them.

I am so excited that we have just planned our trip to WDW. It's been great to read so much about the CBR, it sounds like it will be a wonderful trip.

Can anyone tell me what buildings are designated at smoking building?

I really appreciate it. Thanks.

The All Star Rooms are 260 sq ft and the CBR rooms are 340 sq ft.

I know that Aruba 51 is smoking optional and Safetymom has written in the faq that there are 64 Smoking rooms at CBR. I hope you have a great stay at CBR :goodvibes

With being a non-smoker, I wanted to know what areas not to request. Thanks so much for the information. I really appreciate it.

Your welcome. Being a non-smoker I can relate. I have found CBR to be really good about reqests over the years so make sure to have non-smoking noted on your ressie.
