I understand that the pirate themed rooms in TS are expected to be completed by the end of Jan. Does anyone know when they expect the Nemo up-dates to be completed throughout the rest of the resort? From what I read, Martinique is done, and they are working on Barbados now. My trip is in early Feb. Just wondering if all rooms will be done by then. Thanks!

I doubt that all the rooms would be done by then. They are coming up on some high occupancy times and I doubt they will take a lot of rooms out of service during that time. I could be wrong though.

Funny you mention this but I saw lots workers in one of the Aruba buildings this past week. You may be able to request a finished Nemo section on your reservation. We met a few families staying in Trinidad South and they liked those rooms alot too (old style) and had good housekeeping. The only complaint was the walk to OPR.

We are going Nov.1-8. I have requested Jamaica 44 or 45.

Are the rooms in Jamaica in need of a refurb? :confused3

Should I change my request to Barbados(I have only paid for a standard room). This will be our 1st stay at CBR. My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary while we are there. Our anniversary is actually Oct. 22, but we will be celebrating at Disney a week later due to the boys being out of school Nov. 3-7 for Fall break.

Thanks, safetymom & kaysmommie. Just trying to figure out room location requests. We've stayed in Jamaica a few times in the past and once had a non-preferred room in Martinique. I'd definitely like to get an up-dated room.

We just got back last night from 8 nights at CBR. Our family liked it alot and we are usually stay deluxe. this was our first stay at a moderate resort. The new pool is great and the resort is very pretty too. We paid for a preferred room and requested a Nemo room on our reservation. Our request was granted :goodvibes and we stayed in Martinque 25 since North Trinidad hadn't been refurbed just yet. I took tons of pics that I will post on the CBR pics in a day or two after I load them to the computer. Also I will post a bigger review on the resort board later. Thanks everyone for all your help and information on this thread. If anyone has any questions about the resort I would be happy to help.

I too had been thinking about you and your move from Deluxe to Mod. We switched last year and loved the CBR, and I am so glad that you liked it and had a good trip. I can't wait for you review, I'll be looking for it.

These reviews have been sooooo great, makes me SOOO crazy with anticipation considering as of today we have 48 days!!! WOO HOOO!!!

These boards are such a blessing, SO happy that I have found you guys/girls...

(do you think I like the word So today?? :rotfl: )

I woke up this morning in such a panic, it made me cry :(

I had a nightmare last night that I got lost at CBR and could not find my room or my family. I could not understand the bus system. It was aweful :scared: I kept asking the CM's where to go and they were so pleasent and nice, like stepford wives, but no help at all to me.

Hopefully, this will not last for the rest of the week.

Yikes, only 6 more days and DD woke up with a stuffy nose today :(

We will be at CBR from the 17-27 so we can get lost together.

Don't worry, you will be fine!! If I didn't get lost at CBR on my VERY FIRST trip to WDW I'm sure you won't get lost! :lmao: :goodvibes

I have heard that you can see the fireworks at Epcot from CBR -- is there a good spot to view them from?

The best spots to see Illuminations are either the Martinique/Marina/Pool area or the Aruba parking lot.

You can also see the higher parts of Wishes if you stand outside the windows of Shutters at OPR. Find a spot where you can see the top of Spaceship Earth peeking through the trees and the fireworks will appear directly above the ball.

During our first stay there we got lost, only because we got off the wrong bus stop. We didn't realize there were 7 of them. Not trying to make you nervous. But getting lost was fun for us. We got to discover a lot more of the resort. And even if you do get lost, I'm sure as soon as you one of the CM's they will certainly point you in the right direction. Besides you will be at Disney! Hope you enjoy. :wizard:

Talking about getting lost...
We couldn't find the bar during our first trip to CBR. We kept saying, there must be a bar here but it took us 3 days before we found it, all because we heard the music.
We stayed at Barbados and never used the main pool so we had no idea that there were other entrances or gift shop apparently. Had I only known about the DIS back then. :rotfl2:

Welcome back Kaysmommie! I'm so glad you enjoyed CBR! Did you by chance notice which Aruba buildings they were working on?

Great information! Thanks for sharing all of this!

Here is my newest question:

I keep reading all these dire warnings in the guidebooks (Unofficial Guide and the Complete Guide) about the bus situation.

What's the real deal? Are the buses near as bad as what I have read? We always drive down, but I like to put the car in the parking lot and not think about it again until it is time to leave (or we want to go to another resort for a meal). We travel in June and take a midday break -- would I be pulling my hair out waiting for a bus?

I have also read about the food court having a hard time dealing with all the people that stay? What has been everyone's experience?

Thanks! :goodvibes

You know the bus situation is going to be the same at every resort. Some days its wonderful and others it going to be awful. It is sooo subjective. We go in Dec. and last year we only waited about 15 minutes the longest for a bus. Once on a bus, the longest ride we had was about 15-20 minutes. For me that was ok, but to some that might seem like eternity. Just go and enjoy it and take your mid day break, we do too. My DDs like to swim.

As far as the food court, I've never had a problem at CBR. The food court is great, good selection and the food was tasty. We there at least once for each meal, meaning we ate a breakfast lunch and dinner, and we found the food court to be fine.
