Can anyone tell me how the counter service is for breakfast? We are on the DDP and will be using counter service for breakfast, I think it would be best to just eat at CBR before heading to the parks.:confused3

You'll be able to find different breakfast platters eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, french toast, Mickey waffles, croissant breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, omelets, oatmeal, fruit. All made fresh and very delicious!

Thank you! This will work perfectly!

I offically am booked now for July 09! We got a standard view pirate room! I hope they look as good as the drawing on the webpage. my DS will love it. Were celebrating my Dh's 40th b-day while we are there too!
Just a quick question. I am sure it is covered but I may have missed it in the 150+ pages.
At peak times such as opening time at the parks does each bus tend to have a start at different sections each time? For example the 1st bus stops at stop 1-2-3, etc, then the next bus starts at 4-5? Does that make since to anyone?

Same here! AAA rate was too good to pass up. July 10-17. We're on the countdown! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :tink:

They do start busses at different stops. I think that one bus starts at Martinique and exits out the front gate. Another bus starts at Jamaica and then exits out the side gates (right next to Jamaica). But, if I remember correctly, it is the MGM/Epcot buses that start at Jamaica and the other busses start at Martinique. I have always been down with a rental car, but, I took busses when my parents were the drivers on the rental and I do remember the busses starting at different stops. But only the two.

They also have a Grab n Go section...donuts and such. If you're on the Dining Plan you can also go into the shop and get a box of donuts as a snack credit. We did this a couple of times.

I just looked on Disney's site for a round about figure for June 2009...1 night $208 for Standard Room and $236 for standard Pirate Room.

Just would like to say thank you...this thread has been helpful to our family who is first time visitors..Special thanks to MariaEller..we took your helpful hints in another post and made our requests from your recomendations.

Just one more question...not sure where to post this but is parking free for ppl that stay at Disney resorts that wish to drive to the parks?

That seems to have gone up quite a bit, or am I wrong on that? With tax? That must be peak season? We've usually been going in Reg. season the last years, though we've gotten discounts with either a pin code, gp code, or the latest one we switched to this Nov with FD. I just hope they don't price us out of CBR! Money will be a lot, lot tighter in the next years so I dread seeing any price increases! :scared:

The whole section is being converted.

We checked out 9/24 from TS bldg. 35; I only walked around bldgs. 34, 35 & 36 and saw no work being done. I did not walk all the way around the other 3bldgs. I would think the sort of work being done will be time consuming so not sure when they will be finished the whole section. I was told by Mousekeeping that the floors will be wood instead of carpet. (not sure if real hardwood)

Thanks for the info! Hmmm, I wonder if any of the rooms wil be done or even started by the time we get there on Nov 14? We've requested a room there, actually hoping to get right by the busstop ground floor, so the least wear on my bad knees. Still very quiet and lovely. I don't mind the distance from Opr either, cause the internal shuttle works great! Anyway, I showed my daughter the pic of the pirate rooms (the artist drawing) and she thinks they are pretty cool and wants to stay there next year. Me, I don't really like them too much at all, but maybe they will be better in person! :)

From what I've read the Pirate Rooms in TS will not be available until
next year, January by the earliest.
We requested a Pirate room for next year--Sept. trip.

I also wondered about the flooring if it would be wood or not--
I think there are carpets that have the plank wood look and maybe that
is what they will use.

I'm looking forward to staying there knowing that the room will be
newly refurbished. I'm not sure if I will be as thrilled about the distance
to the Main Pool and Food court. I'm trying to possitive though-I'm sure
I will be just fine.

I hope that wood floor is like the carpet you describe instead of real wood floors. In my bedroom I really prefer carpet, not a cold floor for bare feet. Idk, it would seem odd to have a wood floor in a resort room, I think you'd really notice the dirt, etc on the floor more in your bare feet.

Busses going TO Epcot, DHS, and AK take the following route:
Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> Mart. -> OPR -> T.N. -> T.S. -> Exit

Busses going TO MK and DTD take the following route:
Mart. -> OPR -> T.N. -> T.S. -> Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> Exit

If you are returning FROM a theme park your bus will probably change routes when it enters the resort so you cannot tell where you will stop first. For example, if you take a bus back from Epcot it may change into a MK bus when it arrives at the resort and start at Martinique.

The Internal Shuttle runs every 10 minutes or so on the following route:
Custom House -> Mart. -> OPR -> T.N. -> T.S. -> Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> C.H....

Note that if you're in in Jamaica, Aruba, or Barbados you can take any Epcot, DHS, AK, or Internal Shuttle bus to Old Port Royale and any MK, DTD, or Internal Shuttle bus back.

In Martinique you can take any bus to Old Port Royale but you must take the Internal Shuttle back.

In the Trinidads you must take the Internal Shuttle to Old Port Royale, but you can take any bus back.

Finally, note that the Barbados bus stop is across the street from the Custom House, so after check-in those staying in Barbados should walk, and those staying in Martinique and the Trinidads should cross the street to Barbados and take any Epcot, DHS, AK, or Internal Shuttle bus.

are the priate rooms more expensive than a regular room at CBR?
Pirate rooms are $25 a night more than a standard room.

Like you Fours, I have found this thread to be so helpful, and you won't be disappointed in your stay.

Parking is free both at the resort and at the parks that belong to Disney.

We have done both (drive ourselves to the park, and have taken the bus) and would highly recommend taking the bus unless it seems really busy. When we drove to the parks, we were surprised of the number of times we would get a bit lost in the dark on the way back to the resort after a long day (how irritating) and how easy and quick the bus service was.

Either way, enjoy!

Last year my DH and I had the croissant breakfast sandwiches, which we thought were very good and are looking forward to getting them this year. The kids just had Mickey waffles and of course loved them.

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to say first of all THANK YOU ALL for the wealth of information in this thread!

We are a family of 4 who has only stayed at the Wilderness Lodge prior to this trip. (4 times prior to be exact)

Please, don't worry about CBR it was fabulous! I am embarrassed by the time I wasted worrying and then trying to get my Ressie changed to WL!
It must have been meant to be, that we couldn't get a room because, I have to say we didn't miss the WL at all! We even went to visit and commented on how small the pool was.

I really thought of myself as a DELUXE SNOB... but no more!
The $1100.00 we saved over last years trip instantly became our spending money for this trip!

The walk from Jamaica 41 to OPR and Main pool, was approx 4-6 min. What a beautiful and relaxing family adventure everyday! I really went into this thinking I would hate the walk, but as my husband quickly pointed out, @ WL it can take all of that and possibly more if you have a room on a higher floor in the south side of the building. (you have to wait for the elevator and still walk to the other side .)

In closing CBR is beautiful, relaxing and very private. The bus system went seamlessly for us and we never waited more that 5 mins for a bus to anywhere!

I am more than willing to answer any questions anyone might have, so ask away!

Thanks again.

I'm so glad you had such a great experience. I've never stayed there before either, but am very excited to try it. Did they offer you the bounce back to book for next year? If you have any pics that would be great.

Same here! AAA rate was too good to pass up. July 10-17. We're on the countdown! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :tink:
Our dates are July 10-18! Hummmm, maybe we will have to look each other up one night!

Thank you so much for understanding me. This is what I was talking about. lol...Thanks for the answer too!

Their are 2 different rates for the pirate rooms. The way I read things...These buildings normally are not a preferred location price, but now...they are. And if you want a water view then you pay even more.
