Yes they are available. Currently they have lifejackets at Jamaica and Barbados where the lifeguards are, but once the new pool reopens the lifejackets will once again be available at OPR. They are free of charge and located in bins as Yacht Club Family said.

I am curious about how big the slide is at the main pool. It looks very small in the pictures compared to the slide at POR?

As I said before there are two slides. The smaller is about 20' long and the new one is supposedly about 82' long. I have not had the opportunity to see the top of the new slide yet, but when I do I'll let you know. I do know that it curls around inside the new fortress quite a bit before exiting into the pool.

wpxc, thanks so much for the update and pics! They look great and it still gives me hope for an opening when we arrive 9-7. How deep is the pool? Can you tell us what the weather been like this last week?

Hopefully the pool will be open when you arrive! The pool is 4' 10" deep at it's deepest (it used to be 6') and 4' along the walls of the "deep end". It is 4'10" at the bottom of the smaller slide, and just over 4' at the bottom of the larger slide (which is a bit odd to me..). At the steps of the shallow end, it is 3' and the pool also has the zero-depth entry (like a beach/shoreline).

I have a question about preferred view rooms. We are booked Dec11-16 with a king bed, water view. Does anyone know if that is preferred? It was the only one my TA could get at the code for that time and I dont want to switch it if I couldnt get that rate again. TIA for any help.

I don't believe so. We were planning on going to the Contemporary Resort to get them this past trip but we had a family member check in for us instead. He got us "A" ticket for Southwest. When we got to the airport, we just had to print the tickets.

We stayed at CBR last year. When we checked out of the resort there was a room in the main Customs House where you check your luggage for the ME. The attendant there printed all our boarding passes and checked our luggage, it was totally hassle free.

I was thinking about upgrading to this hotel but I heard somewhere that there was a problem with bedbugs

Have stayed at the CBR multiple times with the last being just two weeks ago and we've never had a problem with bedbugs.

Good to hear. I'm trying to upgrade from Allstar Music to a moderate because of this problem. I can't decide which moderate to go with though!

Yay I just made the upgrade! I'm glad we'll be near Epcot as that's where we'll be spending most of our time.

I have a question about parking. We rented a car and I know we can park for free because we're staying on Disney property; but are there places to park directly outside your room? It would be really nice to be able to just pull up with our things instead of having to walk

The parking lots are located near the buildings and we've never had a problem loading or unloading our car. We've been in Martinique twice and in Jamaica once.

Sounds great. I didn't know if there was like one big parking structure and then you had to haul your stuff from there. But i'm glad to hear that you can park in front of your building

We parked our car right beside a sidewalk/pathway leading to our Martinique building. We only moved the car once and our parking space was on the other side of the sidewalk. The walkways are wide enough to pull a large suitcase. The widows walk around the building is even wider so it's easy to get your luggage to and from your vehicle.

Sorry to sound naive but when people say "preferred" what do they mean? Do they mean like, it's a short distance from check in or something?

Okay I see. Our trip is not going to be very long so we're not going to be spending a lot of time at the resort.

I guess it doesn't really matter what part of the resort we stay at then.
