What's is the difference between the old pool and the new?
forgive me I'm new to this resort.

I also read they were putting slides in the quiet pools too?
Is that true?

Thanks.

The slides at the quiet pools are temporary. They will be removed once the new pool opens.

There is a new kids area with small slides and water bucket. The main pool has been made into a zero entry pool (like a beach). No stairs needed in certain areas to enter the pool. There have also been small changes to the main pools slide.

I just called to inquire about CBR for our end of Sept trip (28 to Oct 4) and the CM said that they received word that the pool may not open until the end of Sep or early Oct.

I told her that I heard it was to be ready by mid Sept. and she stated that the later dates were recently given to them. This thread makes it sound like it is near completion....anyone out there have some inside info to find out when the open dates will be?

Any idea as to why the pools would not be open until later? I'd like to try out this resort, but the kids will surely want the main theme pool to be open!

Thanks!

I can't imagine the pool wouldn't be open for another month. Unless they found cracks in the construction, there is no reason not to open it. They would be spending lots of money filtering a pool for a month with no one using it.

They may have just given you that info just in case something does arrise.

Oh wow the POOL Looks great.... i'm going in May 09 and i was still between POP and CBR but CBR it is...... i can't wait to go back i loved the resort the first time around i bet i'll love it again....

I would like to know more about CBR quick dining...

I've stayed at CSR and POP and have been happy with the selection/variety at both. I will have two young kids with me that will want the usual kid fare (hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, tacos, spaghetti) but I am also interested in what else is offered for the adults. Do you have any favorites? We will probably not do a lot of table service meals at the resort - so I am more interested in your thoughts on the counter service.

How is the gift shop? I really liked the Pop Century one (great for kids with the potato head selection) and I also liked CSRs. And bus transportation? We will not have a car.

Thanks...we think we might like CBR and are deciding whether to give it a try!

Just booked our stay at CBR in a PIRATE water view room for 11th and 12th August 2009! Yipee!!! Very, very excited! Is there a particular building that I should request to get a nice water view? Can you see Illuminations from any of the rooms there?

How long does it take to walk from Trinidad South to the Food Court for breakfast?

We were very happy with CBR's food court. It is large and there are a lot of choices. Much better than the other 2 mods we have stayed at. Plus there is a grab & go section that offers even more choices!

I believe CBR has 2 very nice gift shops. And we had no problems with the buses.

We ate at the food court quite a bit last year and we thought it was really good! We had a turkey platter one night and it was delicious! The hamburgers were ok, a little greasy but other than that pretty good!

when I booked in April they told me mid-September for the pool, based on the pictures on this thread I would say they are much closer to end of Aug for opening

Thanks, I switched our one arrival night, before going to our main resort, from ASsports to CBR just to see the new pool. I'll keep watching and hope they are open by mid-Oct. If not, I'm switching to another resort, but the pool looks awesome and I really would like to take DGS to CBR. pirate:

What do you say, just casually mention it, or make a point of saying you are having a bday? We are celebrating both of our bdays, the anniversary of my 39th, for the 11th time, :lmao: and my daughters 18th. That would be cool if they did a small something for her, she'd love the surprise!

I did just casually mention it when booking and then when checking in I asked about the Birthday Button so that gave me the oportunity to mention it again at the front desk.

They delivered the balloons and card one morning when we were getting ready. I was as excited as my son who was turning 7.

I also brought with us a 4' wide B'day banner that said Happy 7th Birthday, with Disney characters on it and taped it in the window. :)

I am at CBR now, and as was posted above both the pool and kiddie area are filled, and most of the new slide is finished (one tower needs to be painted). The change-house however still needs shingles and siding added.

On another note, I will probably have two unopened cases of water bottles left over (24 half-liter bottles each). If anyone is checking in to CBR after the 18th and wants one or both send me an email or a PM and I'll leave them in your name.

EDIT: All the water is spoken for

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes I wish I was checking in this weekend! :rotfl:

We had switched our September 21st stay from POP to CBR and the CM told us (two days ago) that the pool would definitely be open by then. Here's hoping, fingers crossed!

Do you want a view of the village quiet pool or of the lake?

It should take about 10 minutes to walk to Old Port Royale, at a very leisurely pace (like if you are with small children).

I don't know for sure, but I'm going to guess that Trinidad South (the location of the new Pirate rooms) is not an ideal location for viewing IllumiNations. If may be wrong on this, but I think Trinidad South is ever-so-slightly downhill from the rest of the resort (although, as I said, I'm not certain on this), which would make the viewing not ideal. Even from the "best" locations, you can only see some of the higher fireworks. You will want to face north, in the general direction of CBR's Custom House.

Inside info: that CM was wrong. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone who is lucky enough to try out the new pool will post pictures as soon as possible! PLEASE????

My kids will be sooooo excited if that new pool area is open by the time we arrive mid-Sept. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Looking forward to some more updated photos too!
