Caribbean Beach Resort - CBR - July 10 - 19, 2009 (LOTS of pics added page 3)

Wow, thanks for posting the pics - we'll be staying there in just a few weeks so it is great to get a preview!

I have a question about parking........are the parking areas adjacent to all the separate buildings, or is there one central parking area for the whole resort? Are there bellmen to help with getting your luggage to the room, or push carts to use? My dd and I are going by ourselves - leaving the menfolk at home this time - so I have to think about things I typically don't think about!!

catbertdave99 gave the link to a good map, I have that one bookmarked. I did see castmembers at the entrance to checkin, and the morning we checked out there were alot of push carts at the entrance door. But the checkin building is very separate from the rest of the resort so maybe the carts are just used to unload when people first arrive and need their luggage held? I'm not sure how that is done, we handled our own luggage. We parked right at the sidewalk to our building to unload, then my DH went park in the parking lot after. Because the parking lots are nicely set up around all of the villages, you'll never have to park far from your room.

How cool to do a mother and daughter trip, hope it all goes well!

Thanks Mary and CatBert - very helpful information! We're excited about the trip - dh and ds just returned from a 2-week hiking trip at the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in NM, so we decided the girls needed their own trip! My dd has had some very frustrating medical issues this year, which have been a challenge for our entire family to cope with. One of her doctors, when he heard we were going to WDW, offered to write a letter for her to obtain an assistance card, which should cut down on some ride waiting times, making the trip safer and more enjoyable for her. One of her issues is a metabolic disorder and she has to eat very frequently, so we've asked for a room near the main complex to be near the food court. We're just ready for a vacation from live!

Aww, thanks, CBR is great! We may stay there again next summer.

There was no upgrade, I paid for a preferred room. I requested a ground floor room in bldg. 25 or 26 when I made my reservation. We ended up checking in a day early, we were given a second floor room, I asked if we could change to a ground floor, in bldg. 25 and the cast member was able to change it. Doesn't hurt to ask nicely if you want something different. If you are thinking about booking CBR, it is a great resort. There have been lots of positive reviews lately.
