I was looking through some old WDW info from late 1980s (boy, does that seem like a long time ago) and noticed in one guide book a write up for the first moderate resort at WDW, Caribbean Beach Resort. We stayed there a few months after it opened. It seems to me that the rate when it first opened was listed at around $69 per night, maybe a little higher. Does anybody remember what the rate actually was?

I do not know how much each night was, But, I can recall my ten night package, passes 1 adult, 1 child. And air from Boston, no car rental... transfers was $1123.00. This was January 4th through the 14th, 1989.

That sounds about right.

I still have the 1989 copy of Birnbaum's book and it lists rates as $67-89 for "season" and $65-85 for "off-season"

The book was $9.95:p

We stayed at the CBR in 1991 and the price of the room was $69.00. That was for standard view.

This is why I need all of your expertise...we stayed at CBR in September of 1990 and paid $95/night!

June of 1994 I had CBR booked for $89/night, but got upgraded to a king room at WL for the same price since it had just opened. Talk about a great rate for a deluxe.
