We are taking a week long disney trip in December and are planning on staying at Caribbean Beach. It will be my first time staying there. I have an 11 year old and a 15 month old. From what I've read on here, this may not be the best resort for a baby. Any suggestions?

My DS was 10 yo when we first stayed at CBR and he liked it. I don't know why it wouldn't be suited for a baby, but for convenience one of the MK resorts might work better because it would be a quick hop back to the resort for baby needs, but they are all deluxe so it depends on your budget, etc. If you prefer to stay at a moderate then I would say CBR is just as good as any of them. As you can see by my ticker/sign we have stayed at two and we prefer POFQ.

We stayed at the CBR last year when my dd was 2 and are staying again this year. The CBR is great. No reason why it wouldn't be good with a 15mo. The only thing I can see is if you do not have a car and do not get a village near the main building. It may be a little bit of a walk to go to the food court and main pool.

Other than that it is great. The theming is wonderful. You even have a beach! It was great for an afternoon break. We would go back to the resort and sit on the beach and build sand castles with dd. It even gave dw and I some time to sit and relax and have a drink.

You'll love it.

Kenny was it time consuming on the bus going back to the resort for a break then going to a park again later? We are staying at CBR and now after reading about the deluxes and the monorail resorts I am wondering if we should have picked one. but I checked availability at the Poly online last night and it says there is nothing available for the week we are going. so i guess it doesn't matter anyway, but I am just curious.
i think the cbr looks fun!

We stayed at the Poly before we had kids and NOTHING beats staying on the monorail. That being said Poly is also way more $$$.

We always rent a car, so I have no idea as to the wait for the bus. My logic is with my dd3, when she is ready to leave, she is READY to leave. The last thing I want to deal with is a meltdown because we missed the bus. We are going in Dec for 9 days and I got a car for about $200. My sanity is worth $200. If you are willing to spend the money on a deluxe maybe a car is something to consider.

We had the AAA diamond parking pass so you park right behind the handicap section and did not need to take the tram. You didn't hear it from me but you can buy the AAA parking passes on ebay for about $20. If you are renting a car, get one. Especially with kids, strollers, etc. SOOO worth it.

I'd say from MK back to CBR was no more than 1/2 hour. That included monorail, walking to the car, loading everyone in and drive. The drive itself is only 5-10 minutes.

The 1st half of the trip we would go back to room around 2:30-3pm. You can buy sand toys at the CBR giftshop, or get the kids chicken nugget meal the 1st day there. It comes in a pail with a shovel. I think the sand toy bag we bought was about $10. Had lots of stuff. We would bring the sand toys, some snacks and a few "adult" beverages down the beach and just play for a bit with my daughter. She loved it and it was very relaxing for dw and I too.

2nd half of the trip we couldn't get my dd to leave the park so we never made it back to the room. We kind of "missed" our afternoon break.

If you have any questions about the CBR just let me know

Thanks Kenny! yes we may rent a car just in case. My kids are the same way, when they want to go they want to go NOW! LOL!!:)

The CBR is a great resort. Our first stay there was when our boys were 2 & 4, then again twice when they were older. They actually request to stay there. They love the main pool & slide. Dh and I love it there too its our favorite Moderate.

I say go for it!:thumbsup2
