I have really great things about both. We dont have any children and are looking for a fun fillled vacation?

Carribean Beach the main pool is under renovation until I believe sometime in September if you don't mind that then eith one ! But the perk that POFQ has is the Water Taxi that goes from PoFQ to DTD! It's awesome at night!! :thumbsup2
I think the decision would be made on the 2 things I mentioned plus the atmosphere! Obviously Beach or Victorian? Both are great but I like the Water Taxi Perk at POFQ :goodvibes

You are choosing between my 2 favorite WDW resorts. So in my opinion, you could just flip a coin and you won't go wrong!

POFQ has a very whimsical slide at the pool, as well as very whimsical Fantasia-esque statues of alligators looking like they're playing musical instruments in the pool area. That's fairly kid-like. But then there's the boat ride to Downtown Disney, which is just pleasant and perhaps romantic as al get-out. At neighboring sister resort POR you can also arrange for a carriage ride.

On the other hand, CBR is just so gorgeous. It doesn't remind me of the real Caribbean, but the abundant hibiscus flowers and the piped-in Caribbean music go a long way towards a comfy theme. Did I mention the hammocks on the beaches???

Like I said, you simply can't go wrong.

And if you truly can't make up your mind, consider staying at EACH OF THEM for half of your vacation!

I have never stayed at POFQ but have stayed at CBR before and we loved it...I loved the rooms they were great, the food court was great and the busses were great. It is my FAV mod so far :)

I prefer POFQ. There is only one bus stop and POFQ is the first stop, before PORS. Because they are sister resorts you can use the pools at both POFQ and PORS. You have the boat to DTD. POFQ is the smallest WDW resort, so everything is close. I was just there May 3rd-10th, was in building #4, and was just two minutes from the bus stop and food court. Plus they have beignets:cloud9:. Everyone is so friendly there. I walked into the gift shop one day and was handed mardi gras beads by a laughing CM. POFQ won my heart several years ago when my mom and I were staying there. My mom had gotten violently ill that day after eating something that didn't agree with her. However, she is a diabetic and must eat. I went down to the food court to see if I could find anything for her. As I was looking at the soup of the day, the CM asked if she could help me and I told her what was wrong. She asked what room I was in, gave me some crackers and told me that that soup was too spicy and they didn't really have anything bland, but for me to go back to my room and she would call me. About 30 minutes later, instead of calling me, she knocked on my door with a big bowl of chicken noodle soup and more crackers, plus a hamburger that she said was for me. She had apparently had someone run up to PORS to get it. She wouldn't even take any money or even a tip for it either. She was so sweet! A day or two later she saw my mom and me in the food court, remembered me, and came out from behind the counter to ask my mom if she was feeling better. Because of my worry for my mom, I had missed the CM's name the first time, but took notice of it the second and made a point of going to the front desk to ask for a manager to ask that something be added to her file. I've been sold on POFQ ever since. I love their friendly, helpful CMs. I keep those mardi gras beads hanging on a corner of a bookshelf next to my computer and am reminded of POFQ every time I see them.

CBR I paid for a preferred room and requested Martinique, facing the lake, bottom floor, close as possible to the food court. I got my preferred room in Martinique on the back side of the furtherest building that could still be considered preferred, facing a courtyard (got turned around everytime I walked out my door), and was on the top floor (they don't have elevators). Even though check in was not busy, it took forever to get checked in, because my CM was too busy talking to the CM next to her about her boyfriend cheating on her. When I asked for a different room, she wouldn't even look, just said, "all the preferred rooms are full, sorry", then kept talking about her cheating boyfriend, ignoring me basically the whole time. The buses were the worst of any resort I have ever stayed at. It took forever, just to get out of the CBR complex. The resort is so big, they have an internal resort bus, just to pick up people and take them to the food court and main building. By the way, the food court and the main building are on opposite sides of the resort. I came back from the park one night to find my door propped open with a trash can. I was traveling alone and panicked. I used my cell phone to call security for assistance and when the guy finally arrived, he walked in with me. No one was there and he just made an offhand comment that housekeeping must have left it open while they were cleaning another room. Excuse me, why was my door left open all day and evening while the housekeeper was in another room? He acted like it was no big deal and couldn't understand why I was upset. Anyway, I just did not have a pleasant experience there and will not be returning to CBR again.

I love POFQ however! Of course you can hear good and bad about any resort, but I don't think I've ever read anything bad about POFQ. I'm trying PORS in Sept, but am soooo tempted to switch to POFQ. PORS is the only moderate I have never stayed at though and I want to give it a try.

FYI: CSR is a beautiful resort and had the best transportation of all the moderates, because the conventioneers are in meetings all day. However, we've also had a bad experience there with a group of drunk conventioneers in one of the smaller pools hitting on a couple of young ladies.

We stayed at CBR last August and really did enjoy the hotel. My only complaint was that it is a huge resort. If you do not have a preferred room prepare to do a lot of walking to the food court. We only used the bus system twice. We had a rental car. It seemed we were always picked up first and let off last.
We are going to PORFQ in July and really looking forward to it!

There are so many positive reviews about POFQ that my wife and I are thinking of staying there on our next WDW trip in May 09. There will be more posts to come, but be sure to check the resort reviews on allears.net as well. They were very helpful for me.
