Caribbean Beach Main Pool

Rumor has it the main pool at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is under renovation. Can anybody tell me what the timeframe is on this? We're trying to decide on a resort for our honeymoon in early May. Planning to splurge on a Deluxe Resort, but CBR is definitely in the running. If the main pool's gonna be closed, however, then it's ruled out.

Unfortunately, the main pool at CBR will be closed from January 8, 2008 until September 15, 2008 for renovation. I believe they are installing slides in 2 of the quiet pools while the renovations are taking place. Obviously, the quiet pools, which are located in each village, will be much more crowded than normal.

Also, I have read they are kiddie sized slides. I don't think they will be anything a child over 8 will want to be using. It really sucks because we have always wanted to stay there, and without the main pool, I am not willing to pay $149 a night for it. I think they would be wise to drop it to $99 a night while the pool is in reno. They could probably get a lot of value people hooked on a mod this way, who would then pay the $149 next time they came!

Yes, I agree that they will probably be pretty small slides. While the quiet pools are a decent size, they are not really big enough for adult size slides. We always swim in the quiet pools and they are usually not very crowded - usually just the right amount of people for a nice relaxing swim. I can't imagine how it will work out with that main pool being closed. Those pools will be so crowded. There are a lot of quiet pools though, so maybe the crowds will be more spread out than what I think. My kids are older so we usually only swim later in the evenings and just for a short while just to unwind a little and cool off after long days in the parks. For families with young kids, I imagine the pool being closed is a big disappointment.
