Caribbean Beach FAQ part V

We just returned from our first stay at CBR, just wanted to post a few things about our stay. We found cbr to be a pretty resort the plants and flowers throughout the villages were nice. I liked the way they said welcome to the island when we passed through the gate. We thought they did a great job with the themeing. The quiet pool was nice and relaxing and I enjoyed laying in the hammock under the palm tree we stayed in the Aruba village near the quiet pool. It was a little bit of a walk but not too bad, we rented a car so we drove over to the food court a few times we would stop on our way out to fill our mugs with coffee and tea and soda on the way back later in the day. The resort is very spread out we drove around the resort and were very glad not to be staying in Trinidad I read those rooms were far away but didn't realize they would be that far away from the food court. I wouldn't want to stay there without a car, we saw a woman trying to flag down a bus that said internal on it and it drove right past her. The custom house is far from most of the villages. The main pool was nice and the separate area for the little ones is cute. They had a lot of activities for the kids at the pool but I'm not sure why they feel the need to shout over a microphone to the children who are playing the games directly in front of them we could here it clearly across the lake when at the quiet pool, they also had a dance party for the kids and had the music blasting. I realize it's Disney and it's mostly about the kids but there is a lot of adults there to. I'm glad we stayed and would consider going back, even with a preferred room I would want to have a car too many bus stops overall a very pretty resort and a great trip! Linda :)

It sounds like you had a good stay at the CBR. I sure wish I were there right now instead of working behind this desk.

We stayed at the Caribbean Resort in april 2010 and loved it. The best part of the resort is the food court at Old Port Royale. You can get more by ordering a counter service meal than a table service meal gives you in some restaurants like the Coral Reef. The salmon meal at Port Royale was fabulous and well worth the money. While it semms that the buses were an issue to some they were all on time when we visited. One surprise was that you can see the the fireworks from EPCOT from Barefoot Bay. We look forward to returing the the Caribbean Resort on our next visit.

i agree! the food court was the best! it has more of a selection compared to port orleans riverside and you dont have to pay a tip for a counter service meal like at csr. we went september 2010 and the bus service was the best compared to any moderate we have been to. i also thought the beds were the most comfortable i cant wait to go back.

I totally agree! I had the Pork Chop dinner with two sides one evening and it was wonderful. And my older DD loves the pasta counter.

I just booked our Family trip to CBR for July. I've been reading about last year's DW promotion for the Disney Dining plan where it was included. I know that they currently have a promotion leading up to March 2012 that gives the same Disney Dining Promotion.

Does anyone know if there will be a similar promotion this summer? I'm hoping that there will be......

Oh man... You've all got me wishing I was there right now. Anyway, 40 more days according to my WDW dashboard counter!

Should get Mickey mail in the next week or so.:)

My fingers are crossed for it. My BF and her family want to join us on our Free Dining adventure this summer. My room is already booked, did so as a bounceback, but we are waiting for the offer to come out.

We have stayed at CBR 4 times and have always had a blast. Three of the times we had our daughter who was two at the time. The big pool is a lot of fun and our daughter loved the kiddie pool with he pIrate ship. We stayed in one of the pirate theme rooms the last time. Disney did a great job of making our trip even more magical.

I have been researching for over a month now and finally chose CBR for our honeymoon trip in July. We of course wanted to do a deluxe but we can't afford it. I'd rather stay longer then stay deluxe :) So CBR it is :) I am excited we've only stayed in value so this is a splurge for us. I know its really early but I am booking my trip by Friday and I want to request a few things as this is a very SPECIAL trip for us. What is the best view to ask for? Def want a king bed but I want a water/beach view I've seen some pictures online, but they don't say what area they were in :( Some have noted Aruba area. I don't want to be to far from the pool and food court either. So ANY advice is welcome! also is there elevators in the buildings? :dance3:

Congratulations and have a great trip, check out Martinique - I think 24 and 25 have beach and water views. Also I have not seen any elevators. Someone else on Dis may correct me if I am wrong. I can not remember, but I have seen a lay out of the property on a web site. I believe you can just Goggle it and you'll probably get it.

Thanks

I recommend booking a Preferred room (and requesting King bed and a Water View) if you wish to be close to the theme pool and food court. Otherwise, you'll be where they stick ya. ;) You could still make requests, but there's no guarantee they'd get honored. So book whatever is most important to you. :goodvibes

CBR has no elevators. :guilty:

Also, be sure to note on your reservation that it's your Honeymoon! :cloud9:

I just modified our existing CBR reservation using the new special offer and saved $491.88! For those of you staying at the CBR in 2012, head over to the Disney World site to see if your dates are covered.
