I figured it was something like that, LOL.

With all the people who stay at CBR, I'd think there would be more reviews but not much on allears.net or disboards or this thread. The menu variety is limited, but sounds good. Is the food bad or something?

we ate there and really liked it! we had the steak, vegetables, and the potatoes, chocolate cake. the food there was really good and so was the service. the place gets bad reviews but we enjoyed it!

I'm in the process of planning a trip to the CBR in November. Initally was supposed to be DS7 and I but friends will join us:)

Everyone wants a pirate room. Tell me if a 6'4'' tall, 245 pounds man will fit in one of those pirate beds?????
To those tall people who have tried them, your input will be greatly appreciated. I have stayed in a pirate room before but being 5'2'' I even fit in the daybeds at the Poly:laughing:

Thank you all!

This will be my first stay at the CBR with a rented scooter for my Mom.
Where do people usually park them for charging? In the room....or is there any place to charge them on the sidewalk outside the room?

TIA :)

I am sure this has been answered already but the thread is so long.....I'm just going to ask it again. Are there hairdryers in the rooms at CBR? Need to know if I should bring my own or not (flying so trying to limit what I pack).

There are hair dryers in the room.

There are hairdryers in the room. However, I find them to be less than adequate so I will be bringing my own.:)

Children's Activities? Are there activities at CBR for kids like crafts, games, pool activities, music, outdoor movies, etc.? I know about the pirate cruise, bike riding.

Room Requests I made a room request for "Close to Old Port Royale" but read that rooms close to OPR are preferred and cost extra. Should I request a specific village that's close to Port Royale instead? When I booked, I didn't see any option for preferred rooms... just pirate rooms and waterview. Maybe that means the preferred rooms are booked.

Sorry... I searched this thread and the Internet and didn't see a clear answer.

look at the buldings directly across the bridge from old port royale. they really aren't much further away than the preferred rooms and dont' cost extra. we like Jamaica building 44 near the Courtyard. I know others like building 45.

I have not stayed in a pirate room but have read posts and threads that say this beds are the @most@ uncomfortable beds because they don't have a box spring/ it's a flimsy 1 pc mattress........

Personally, I need a good nights sleep on A good bed so no way as an adult would I be able to sleep on that bed......

Hello all, I just had an online chat with a Disney castmember asking questions about a few things. One of the questions pertained to the CBR. Here's a copy of the section of our conversation that had to do with the resort:

you: I know that Port Orleans is currently undergoing a refurb and that they are getting queen beds. That makes the Caribbean Beach Resort the only moderate resort with full size beds. Any word on whether or not the CBR will be getting queen beds any time soon. My son would love it if he didn't have to share a full size bed with one of us.

Laurence: They are next on the upgrade list, and all we have been told is they will be complete by the end of 2012. We have not been given a time frame on when the changeover will start as of yet.

you: That's where we were planning on staying. Wonder if they will have any rooms done by the end of May.

Laurence: I would say it is possible, as it is close to the middle of the year, but as of now no word on when they will start. If it is something that may only take a month or two, then it may not be underway by May.

you: I'll just keep my fingers crossed that they get a move on and we have queens when we go.

I have looked on the map linked in post 1, but I do not see the designated smoking areas on the map. I do not want to be by/in a smoking area so am hoping someone has a map that has them shown so that I know to request a different room if needed when we check in.
Thanks

Here's a link to an updated version of the same map on the DIS site:

It may be difficult to tell, but the Designated Smoking Areas tend to be in the courtyards of each building. We are non-smokers and don't like the smell of smoke, but we have loved our courtyard rooms - it's never been a problem for us, and we haven't seen people using the courtyards as a smoking area often.

Can someone point me to the bus route info? We're considering CBR for our next trip (last I was there was long long ago) and looking at the map above..am I right in counting 8 bus stops before leaving the resort?

We are at CBR right now. There are 7 stops in the resort. It can take a good 10minutes once being picked up to actually exit the resort due to the amount of stops. It's funny, CBR seems to have the least amount of buses headed back to the resort from the parks. It could be my imagination but it certainly seems that way. That being said, it has not put a damper on our trip at all. We are having a great time and enjoying CBR!
