65 days until our First stay at CBR!! Trying this Moderate Resort for the 1st time and WItHOUT The kids! CANNOT WAIT!:cool1:

Four days for me too!! :cool1: Third time at CBR!!

We will probably bump into you at some point..:woohoo: The kiddie pool looks great for my DD5. but she will probably opt for the larger slide, she's a risk taker :scared1: We try to do a different hotel every year..wanted to do Poly but I got the "what are you nuts, that much $$ just to sleep?" LOL it's the whole atmosphere not just the room. Anyways, next year dd5 wants to try the AoA resort, I on the other hand would like to try CSR or POLY, sure I will lose out again..

Be sure to say hello if you see us!

We love to try new resorts too. CBR is the only one we've repeated so far. We are getting to try out the Poly this time for our last 4 nights. I couldn't justify paying that price to stay there the whole trip!

Have a great time. I hope we all make it there safely. I'm a little worried about our flight Friday morning with the hurricane.... :scared:

I know we leave Saturday AM and I'm a little worried our flight will get delayed or cancled.

I know the weather..is a little scary and now the Earth Quake in Virginia..what the heck :confused3 all too scary:scared:

I would have loved to do the split stay 1/2 at CBr & 1/2 at Poly but my mom & dad are coming along and hate to make them dig deep in their pockets. Although..they probably would have went for it..I know my mother is dying to try out the Poly, but my father...I would have to get a crowbar to pry open the wallet :rotfl2:

We are leaving during the night tomorrow night! So close now!!!! :lovestruc We are staying a couple extra nights in Orlando so that we can arrive before Irene comes along. We decided we didn't want to take the chance of driving during tropical storm force winds along the way. That just means extra time at Downtown Disney or an extra day in the parks!

Children's Activities? Are there activities at CBR for kids like crafts, games, pool activities, music, outdoor movies, etc.? I know about the pirate cruise, bike riding.

Room Requests I made a room request for "Close to Old Port Royale" but read that rooms close to OPR are preferred and cost extra. Should I request a specific village that's close to Port Royale instead? When I booked, I didn't see any option for preferred rooms... just pirate rooms and waterview. Maybe that means the preferred rooms are booked.

Sorry... I searched this thread and the Internet and didn't see a clear answer.

I noticed many posters on this thread switched to CBR from Pop Century. What brought you to choose CBR instead?

We changed our resort from Boardwalk Inn (room discount) to Pop Century (free dining) to save money... plus DS likes the giant icons at the value resorts. OK... I like them too. Are you going to miss Pop Century? I'm thinking about just making a stop at Pop anyway to look at the icons and take some photos (using it as a place to switch buses when going from a park to a waterpark or other way around).

I just switched to CBR just to try something different than the value resorts. The main swimming pool looks nice. And I like the idea of taking a short bike ride or boat ride on the lake. We also want to come back from the parks earlier some nights (right after dinner) so it's good we can catch some of the higher fireworks from Epcot and have a table service dinner at Shutters one night. We always say we want to spend more down time at the resort but never do... because we are out at the parks and visiting other resorts too... so we are hoping to do that at CBR, more down time.

CBR is $81 more a night.... but it cost us $176 less to upgrade to the deluxe dining plan (because the regular DDP, not quick service plan, is included). So, the total cost to switch to CBR was $475 for 8 nights (or $59 more a night).

We try to do a different resort everytime just to see what each resort is like. Let's put it this way, I have yet to find a resort that I felt I must go back again.grant you we have not stayed in a deluxe yet..although I must admit there is something fun about POP. Maybe CBR will be the restort we will really want to return to for a 2nd time. We thought the pool, slides and kiddie pool area looked great. We have friends and family who really enjoyed CBR so this was on our "to try" list. We did add an extra day to our vaca so the first day we are staying at POP, was the cheaper thing to do and we do like POP also.

.

We got an upgrade from POP. Then the next time we go we will be trying the new "Art of Animation" We've never been to a MOD and I am so excited! Price wise we figured why stay at a MOD because we are hardly in the room but since we are only going to three parks this trip I think we will have more opportunity to be in resort and pools. I am the type of person that budgets and the Values always work better for us. Plus I like the themeing of POP.
They didn't offer the dining plan for free when we are going. All I had to pay was the $80.00 upgrade total not for every night.

We switched from POP to CBR because of free dining. Free quick service was available to us but we wanted full service so we went to a moderate. We ended up paying pretty much the same because with our POP package we had paid for quick service dining.

We have stayed at both POP and CBR before and liked them both. However moderate usually wins out everytime!

Have a great trip maybe I will see you there.

I'll be on the look out for you when we are at the pool or walking around the resort. :goodvibes

Packing, printing out everything, and trying to get ready! We leave for Orlando in about 14 hours!!!!! :woohoo:

We love CBR - it's just a neat resort, not to say all others are not neat. If you have the time to read our 2011 July trip report below - there maybe something in the report to help you see why we like CBR.

We were originally at Pop with free quick service upgraded to DDP. One day, I decided to price the moderates. I figured if I was going to pay for an upgrade, then maybe it should be to upgrade resorts. That way I get a better resort and the DDP. It was less than $200 to upgrade, so I took it. I chose CBR because I live in N.O. And the Port Orleans resorts dos't appeal to me. CRS has the conventioneers and queen size beds, but CBR had the biggest rooms.

Just switched our dates to get free dining, but had to switch resorts. We were staying at Coronado Springs, but are now staying at the Caribbean Beach Club! WE saved over $1000, so well worth it! Now I need to research this resort!!! LOL

To help you avoid any confusion...it's just the Caribbean Beach Resort, the Beach Club Resort is a totally different place. ;)

You might already know that, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. I know people who have confused the two.

when are you guys going? we are going at the end of october and have never stayed at CBR either..........
