Caribbean Beach FAQ part V

I sure hated to leave those white sand beaches and come home to hot and dry Louisiana. :guilty: Hopefully, I can start organizing my pictures today and post the ones that I took of the resort.

i'm ready to leave hot, wet Louisiana today for those sandy beaches, but i have to wait till November.

I just added 3 days here before we switch to the VWL. I can't wait to see your pictures!

We just booked 2 nights at Caribbean Beach before we switch over to GF! I'm very excited to stay here (even though 2 nights is not long enough! ;) ) We scheduled dinner at Shutter's for the day we arrived. :thumbsup2

The majority of our wedding guests are staying here too! I'm so excited for them all.

Quick question though--For a grandmother that can't walk too well, what building would you suggest? She probably won't go to the food court or anything, but I'm thinking within walking distance to bus stop for my wedding guests. (They're being picked up at the Custom House location). Barbados? Aruba or Martinique? (Those 2 look a little deceiving distance-wise on the map.) Thanks!

We stayed in Martinque, section 22 and we were at the bus stop

I've been so busy since we've gotten home from the Caribbean Beach Resort that I haven't written a proper review. I have, however, started my trip report if any of you want to come along for the ride. Just click on the link in my signature below.

For those of you who were waiting for my pictures of the resort, here are a few. I have many more to follow.

I took the following stair pictures specifically for those who had asked if there were elevators and, if not, were the stairs hard to climb. (They are not.)

I thought I remembered taking a picture of the beverage selections in the store but I can’t find it. I do remember that milk and juice was approximately the same price as we paid at an offsite grocery store, Publix. A six pack of canned Cokes was lots higher and were either $6 or $8! Yikes!

Assortment of various medications and sundries in the CBR store:

There was also a round rack of various magazines for sale in the store but I didn’t take a picture of them.

Thanks for pictures that you never get to see but always wonder about!

Was the milk the personal size or a gallon, we are doing a split and going to a villa after CB and just wondering about milk sizes or if we should just order from wegoshop.

Where in LA are you - we are in New Iberia.

You are welcome. The milk in the grab n go section was just individual size but the one for sale in the store was 1/2 gallon. I can't remember the exact price but it was just a little more than what we paid when we went grocery shopping at the local grocery store.

We are from West Monroe so not too terribly far from you. I visited New Iberia a lot when I was younger. We used to go to South Louisiana to fish and catch crab. Loved it!

Mickeystoontown, this might be the most helpful display of pictures ever posted on this forum! We've been to CBR before so we pretty much have the place cased, but to someone debating their first stay this is excellent. This is exactly the type of helpful info people come here for. On behalf of all DIS members thank you for this contribution!!

Mickeystoontown, thanks for the great pictures -- as always!! Can't wait to be there again....!

I appreciate the kind words. This was our sixth stay at the CBR and I, like you, pretty much know what they sell, where to find it, etc. I knew that others did not and wanted to provide them with pictures to help them out.

Thank you! I have lots more pictures, mostly of the beautiful landscaping, that I will post later. I wanted to get the other posted in case anyone was wondering what they'd find at the resort store and grab n go.

We will be checking in 10-14 for 8 nights so all of this informationa dnall of the pictures are both helpful and exciting.

Question for anyone who has rented a pontoon boat. Is the lake large enough to cruise around and enjoy the view for half an hour to an hour? I thought it would be a relaxing way to get some nice photos. Any thoughts on the boat rentals would be appreciated.

We rented a boat there once, I thought it was worth it. The lake isn't huge but it is a good size for a nice enjoyable boat ride.
If it's something you want to do, i think you should go do it, the company your with really makes things like that awesome!

I can only handle one thing at a time. We just got new kitchen floors, my inlaws are coming for the weekend... and then it's time to go to CBR. So Doritos are an easily obtainable goal for now! ;)

I do appreciate the pictures, to help give a feel for some of the other parts.

Do you remember how much the laundry detergent was? We're all debating doing some laundry in order to pack a little less or in case we find we need a little more!

I think the laundry detergent was $1.00 a box. The washers and dryers were $2.00 each.

RHMH here - Does anyone know if CBR has the tye dye cheesecake? If not I will have to go to Pop Century every other day to satisfy my DD 11 cheesecake craving. We got a compliementary up-grade from Pop Century last night.

Arriving July 9th and departing July 16th.

DD 11 - Me 53 -- My birthday is on the 16th of July. The up-grade was a nice Birthday Gift from Disney Destinations.

RHMH:banana:
