i had a friend go last year from Houston at cheerleading time and she said they were all at the value resorts..mostly sports resort but I dont know about this year. She said they were all on her flight from Houston to Orlando at the start of the flight the stewardesses announced they were aboard then they had the whole plane join in with them chanting their song, she said the stewardesses had the pom poms..everyone cheered them on and wished them luck. They said that they were aware they were there in the parks now and then and at the pool in the evening but they never made a nuisance of themselves. So mabey it wont be anything to worry about. :thumbsup2

Oh I forgot I had a quicky question..I thought I read somewhere..I may be wrong that the kids chicken nugget meals come in a toy pail? I was wondering if I should bring some sand toys for the kids anyhow? My 2yr old just loves to play in the sand. (so does the 7yr old for that matter)

The kids' chicken nugget meal does come in a plastic sandpail. They also sell the sandpails in the store. I think they were about $2.00.

Hi all! We are planning our first trip to CBR this coming May... last year (our 1st trip to WDW) was at the Pop, and while fantastic I definetly wanted to upgrade. Couldn't afford my first love, the Poly, so we'll see how CBR goes! You all have me convinced I've made the right choice.... only 89 days to go!

That said, we've paid for a standard room and I've been thinking about requests. I've been trying to figure out where the preferred rooms are at. I read one post that said all of Martinique and all of Trinidad North are "preferred." However, the first post in this thread says Preferred locations are Martinique buildings 24, 25, 26 and Trinidad North buildings be 31,32,33. If that's the case, I could request Martinique 22 and it would not be preferred, correct? Can someone help me clarify?

TIA!!!
(soooo excited!)

Laura, you'll love CBR!! We stayed at WL our first trip and then moved to CBR. Best move we've made. We tried POFQ in Dec. and it just wasn't right, so we booked our Bounceback for Aug. at CBR!!! It will be our 4th trip there and we can't wait!!!

Welcome Laura! :goodvibes

CBR is great, you are going to love it! And yes, you are correct -- you can request Martinique 22, it is not preferred. The closest non-preferred buildings to OPR are Martinique 22, Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51.

Good luck!

I called disney today about the cheerleader thing in April...they told me that they are usually booked at the budget resorts but if they book up they overflow into the moderates...so no way of knowing what resort they may end up at.

They suggested I request a room away from any large groups.

I am not going to fret over this because we really want to stay at CBR and I am just going to hope for the best:goodvibes;)

Last year we experienced dance, lacrosse, baseball and softball teams at CBR in mid March. They were high school and college age. Yes they took over the quiet pools and beach at times, got into a fruit (from the CBR trees) fight one afternoon (security took care of it) and were loud at night sometimes but they were much more quiet and polite than Pop Warner which we experienced at All Stars a few years ago. We thought about changing resorts for this March because the teams are going to be back but we love CBR so much that we are going to make due. I have learned to bring ear plugs and DH & DD can sleep through a tornado so we are set!

Oh! We are requested Trinidad North in CBR for Dec 2010! It's Trinidad North and Trinidad South are Preferred or Standard room?

I definitely think that you're going into the vacation with the right frame of mind. Who knows? Maybe they won't even be at the CBR.

Thanks for posting the information because now other guests know that the CBR security wasn't hesitant about stepping in.

Remember, if you don't pay for a preferred location, there is no guarantee that you'll be placed in a preferred location. That being said, Trinidad North is preferred and Trinidad South are standard. Trinidad South is also where the pirate rooms are. If you don't pay the extra money for a pirate room, you won't be in Trinidad South.

I can only offer you my experience. I put my requests in through the Disney World website a few weeks before our trip. Jamaica 45 or 46 or Aruba 51, 2nd floor, corner room. I then did online check-in 10 days before our trip. We arrived at CBR at approx. 11:45 a.m. and was told our room just became available. We were given Aruba 51, 1st floor, corner room. It actually turned out to our benefit to be on the first floor because my mom was sick and has asthma, so the stairs would have been a bit much for her. We were in room 5125 and it was fabulous! We were checked in and in our room by 12 noon. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

I'm trying to find where I can put in a location request on my reservation on the Disney website and I can't find it. Can you please tell me how this is done?

Also, is there a way to put in our airline information for DME through the website? On the "My Disney Vacation" page, it says you can, but I can't find a way to do that either. I guess I'll just have to call!

Thanks!

I know there's a way to do this online, but at this moment, without pulling up my own ressie (which I need to do - thanks for the reminder ;) ), I can't think of how it's done exactly. Something about revising, or just modifying maybe? I know you have to enter your ressie number - gee, that was helpful - Not! Sorry!

Pull up the reservation. There is a seperate part with the DME info. There is a button on there, think it's called 'update' or 'add info' or something. It'll lead to a new page where you can enter the flight info, if there are special needs etc.

One downside to this though; it will not let you proceed and actually ad the info if you only want to add a one way (for instance with a split stay). For those you will have to call in. Learned that the hard way. ;)

Does anyone know about how much a cab from CBR to WL would cost? We are now doing a split stay and thinking of just moving stuff ourselves as it is a pool day for us and we have refrigerated items.

Can anyone tell me about the surrey bikes? Is there a place for two children to sit (ages 5 and 23 months), or no? I'm just trying to get an idea of things we might be able to do on our down day around the resort.
