I have heard that you have to wait for several busses to/from the parks if you are staying at either the Caribbean Beach Resort or Coronado Springs as they are very busy. Is this true? A friend is planning a trip in June and was told this and wants some info on the matter. Please help!!!!

No.

On average it is not true any more than from any other resort. At park closing there are always long lines for the buses and monorails back to all resorts.

One source suggested that Coronado Springs has less bus traffic because a greater proportion of people staying there is attending conventions there which means a smaller proportion is going to the parks. Coronado, Caribbean, and Riverside are about the same size. French Quarter, the other moderate, is about half the size, sometimes it shares with Riverside (time of day), sometimes it does not. Pop Century is about 1-1/2 times the size of Coronado Springs but has just one bus station; the larger moderates have several stations each.

Those who have reported have said that getting to the resort bus stop an hour and a quarter before park opening usually means getting on the first bus that comes. Whereas getting to the stop half an hour before park opening often runs into long lines.

If you are leaving a park after closing, such as leaving Magic Kingdom right after Wishes (fireworks show) ends, then you will likely have to wait in line and watch several buses fill up and leave, due to sheer volume. My most recent stay was at POFQ, a relatively small resort, and one night after Wishes we had to wait for at least 3 buses before we were able to board our own.

Going from the resorts to the parks is a different story. It is NOT usual to wait as one or more buses goes by the bus stop full. Repeat: that is NOT the norm. I've stayed at CBR twice. In my total of two weeks there, I think maybe it happened once. What I also saw there once or twice was a full Magic Kingdom bus pass right by our stop, followed IMMEDIATELY by another Magic Kingdom bus either empty or nearly so.

Our big problem with the CBR bus last week was in the morning. We were the last stop in the resort Barbados so the buses were all full by the time they got to us and drove right by. We waited an hour to get a bus. THe next morning we knew to get on the bus stop to our right Martinique and really didn't run into any problems. This was Presidents week also. Bus rides home were never really a problem.

I stayed at Coronado.

Had no problems with buses going TO parks. You probably want to pick a room that is on the "exit" side of the loop that the bus takes around the resort. There are like 4-5 bus stops around the resort. I believe that final stop is the front desk area then out of the lot.

Coming BACK to Coronado from the parks, I did have to wait for 3-4 buses at MK but it was not that big of a deal.

When I stay at a hotel on the monorail, I do not need a car. When I stay at CBR I ALWAYS rent a car. Travel times are often cut dramatically to drive. This is especially true going to AK, BB, TL and DTD.

CSR has excellent bus service I never had to wait for a bus. I also read that they are actually updating their bus service in April so that they will be able to radio the need for other buses to the resorts I think it is actually on this site I read it.

CSR has some of the best transportation I've experienced at WDW. No sharing either! :sad2:
