I was making several reservations last night for in May. I was making one for breakfast at Ohana's and just put in breakfast and didn't like the times I was getting. So I hit the back button and I didn't notice but it changed the date on me!
So I was debating changing it and doing chef mickeys that day - when I went in to check times available I was surprised it was going to let me make one so close in time to one I already had - and then I noticed that the date for the one in Ohana's was sometime in January.
When I went to look at the menu with all of my reservations to cancel it - it was only giving me the one I made about a week ago. it was late so I figured - I would just go do it today.

So today i go in to check my reservations online to cancel the wrongly booked Ohana breakfast and everything is showing up *except* that one.
So I go into my email to pull it up and it was for today! I checked my credit card and sure enough i was charged $50 because we were no-shows.

I called and explained and they removed it and re-booked it for the right day - but i thought I should warn others .... if you hit the back button it changes the date to "tomorrow" so you could easily accidentally make reservations and then miss them before even noticing what you did wrong.

I was having this problem when I was making my ressies yesterday morning. I had to constantly watch the date when I was booking the next restaurant. I am really glad that they removed the charge for you!

Just happened to me 5 minutes ago. I was looking for a reservation for Chef Mickey's for 2 weeks from tomorrow for dinner. We have a reservation at 8:40pm, but I am hoping to find something earlier, so I check everyday to see if anything has become available. Well, this morning, I checked, and found a res for 6:20pm, which I of course jumped on. Well, when I got the confirmation, i saw that it said that the res was for today, not next week. Obviously I never changed the date. I called immediately to cancel it, and was informed that unless someone in my party was not feeling well, and therefore we couldn't make the reservation, we would be charged $40 for canceling, even though I had made the res literally 3 minutes before and called immediately to inform them of my error and cancel.

I get the policy, but really? $40 for a mistake that was in the system for 3 minutes? The CM on the phone made it clear to me, without coming out and saying it, that I needed to lie to her and tell her that one of us was sick or I would be charged. I, of course did so, but I was really tempted to speak with a supervisor and complain. The policy is not, i wouldn't think, in place to punish those who make an innocent mistake, but rather to discourage others from working the system with multiple reservations on the same day.

I think that's pretty crazy - but it sounds like they don't have the authority to cancel for any other reason. When I was on the phone before I had even said anything about fee's - she asked "did you give them your cc number" and when I said yes she said just a minute - or something and I think she said something about her supervisor so I am guessing she needed approval to remove the fee.
I think ... that this policy just started and that they will work out the kinks with time. If I hadn't been reading so much on this board and wasn't diligent - I probably wouldn't have even noticed my Ohana reservation was for the wrong day - or that they had charged me! I could see some people making mistakes and not noticing until they get their credit card statement.
