CareerStart Program *Jan. 2009*

I figured it would be hard to extend from what I've been hearing. I have yet to be excepted. I haven't really started to freak out about it. I had my interview 7 weeks ago. But with them having tons of people applying and the economy, I'm sure they are making sure they only hire what they really need. My original wait period was 2-3 weeks, then an added two weeks. Now I don't know, I'm just waiting and going on with life. I've tried emailing them like the site said and haven't gotten a response, so I figure they told me it would be a couple more weeks, calling and asking isn't going to make my notification come any faster. It's just better to let them do what the need to do and I will get it. If I don't have it by the end of this month I'll call.

If I make it, I would love to audition when extend.

trust me, i know how you feel! i applied really late & only chose merchandise & attractions, so i was really worried that i wouldn't get accepted because of i only chose two roles. but i ended up getting my first choice [attractions]! it was still a pain waiting though. i hope you get it soon!

I called and scheduled my interview for tomorrow at 8:15 in the morning.EEK. SO I've collected every piece of information about questions and did mock interviews with my mom. (cause you know mom can make you feel sooo much better). Lets hope some pixie dust is coming my way!!

Hey Kristen that's cool your extending! Will you still be able to if you don't make the audition, would they still put you somewhere else, if that's something you want to do. If I extend which I'm sure I would want to, I want to audition!

Yes, as long as the record card is clean. I auditioned to extend back in 2005. I didn't pass the audition, but I was able to extend in my current area.

I still have yet to find out anything. It will be 9 weeks Monday. They said I would know by the end of this week. So hopefully it's my mailbox tomorrow. By the end of this month I'm going to have to tell them to forget about considering me. I've held off buying winter clothes incase I would get accepted, I've held off auditioning for theatre companies, I was asked to move in with three other friends of mine soon, but I can't do any of these things because I'm waiting. Well I've started planning on moving in with my friends, I've started doing other jobs at the place I work at, jobs I wasn't going to start to do because after I would finish my training, it would be time for me to leave if I were to be hired. If I only had to wait 2-3 weeks like I was first told, the waiting wouldn't be such an inconvenience to my life right now. This has me disappointed with them. I guess I wouldn't have been if they would have given me the right waiting period and having every wait time frame after that fall thru, then telling me it would be soon, it will be soon, it will be soon. They are not impressing me. Yes, I would love to work with them and this experience would be amazing. It's like you see that got looking person in front of you, but you can't wait for them to fall in love with you. You just have to go for what's in front of you right now. If I don't know by the end of this month weather by letter, call, or email by the end of this month. I'm going to forget about going. I need to start putting my time, money and efforts towards something else.

because for those of us who've already "beaten you to the punch", it's REALLY REALLY REALLY obnoxious to see you've practically answered word for word what we've said after we've already given the answer people are looking for.

My son is graduating from High School in Spring 2010. He is thinking about doing Career Start or College Program. I'm thinking he may want to go to college a semester so he can have a choice of more roles. Plus I'm afraid he would get homesick being away from home on Christmas. I think the weather in the spring would be better as well. He is thinking about attractions. Do you stay at the same attraction all day or do you get to rotate to different ones? We are going to Disney in February so I'll be looking for people with Career Start and CP nametags. Unfortunately my son can't go because he would miss too many days of school. If he misses more than 7 days he can't pass his class. He is also trying to keep his perfect attendance record in high school going.

I was wondering this as well. I see this on all of the threads. There isn't a thread that you haven't done that too. I mean, don't you think the fact that you have 9,840 post is a little creepy and weird??

It depends on the area. Some areas you work at more then one attraction, then some areas you just work one attraction.

I'm not positive. But I'm pretty sure the Spring program is full right now.

Yeah your best bet would be to wait and apply for the Fall 09..They have stopped accepting applications for Spring 09..Now you get to wait with us

Stay with us on the boards and we will let you know what is going on, and we have joanna..who keeps us updated on all the information so we are all in the know.. Make sure you check out some of the facebook groups , they have lots of information on all the programs..i've been checking out past groups(spring08 fall 08 ect.) and found alot of information that has helped me !!!
