We are doing a very quick 3 night trip in mid October for the Halloween Party and Food and Wine Festival. We're staying at Pop Century. We are also doing a much longer and more "deluxe" trip in December for all the Christmas stuff, so we are trying to keep the October trip on the cheap side. What can I say, buying those APs might have been a mistake . . . :p

First off, let me say that we are NOT strictly park people. We've been to Disney lots of times, and although we still LOVE the parks, we now really enjoy taking our time, enjoying things outside the parks, soaking up the atmosphere at our resort, etc.

I should also say that this will be the second trip for our little guy. He'll be 18 months old. We spent a week at AKL for his first birthday and he had the best time! It was a great trip. He's very laid back and easy to travel with, so I have no real worries about that. He loves just riding around in his stroller and looking at everything.

Anyway, here is our plan. Let me know what you think. I don't have much experience planning these quick trips. We usually stay anywhere from a week to three weeks!

Sat Oct 16th
-Plane arrives at MCO at 10am
-We plan on hanging around Pop Century for a while, swimming, napping, eating lunch at the food court, etc.
-Later that afternoon, I thought we would visit Fort Widlerness to see the petting farm and the stables. Then we are doing dinner at Trail's End and the campfire and movie.

Sun Oct. 17th
-Breakfast at Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom (DH loves the RFC and really wants to take DS there because he thinks he will love it. We aren't doing AK this trip, just going to the RFC for breakfast.)
-Then, back Pop Century. We're just spending the rest of the morning and afternoon resting, playing in the pool, etc. so we can really enjoy the Halloween party.
-Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:30p.m. followed byMickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Mon Oct. 18th
-Breakfast at Everything Pop
-MGM for a few rids on ToT and RRC
-Epcot World Showcase for the Food and Wine Festival!!
-We'll probably head over to Fantasia Gardens for some mini golf after that and then spend a little while on the Boardwalk.

Tue Oct. 19th
-Breakfast at Everything Pop
-Downtown Disney for shopping and lunch at the Earl of Sandwhich
-Plane leaves at 5pm, so I'm guessing our towncar pick up will be about 2pm

So, what do you think?

Actually, this sounds heavenly to me. You COULD eat at the Downtown Disney RFC since you'll be there anyway but that's only if you might want to add something else.

Really this sounds great to me. I need to add the Boardwalk to my itinerary, thanks for the reminder. :)

Gem we are at a similar place as you as concerns WDW:D Not to make you into park commandos, but would you consider going to AK for a few hours that first day? I see where you are coming from on everything else, but it seems like you could do a little time at AK (I think DS would love the live animals). Have a fun time. It sounds like a great chill at WDW:earsboy:

Thanks! We think it sounds like a pretty good plan, too.

The only reason we aren't doing RFC when we are at DD is that we really want to try the new Earl of Sandwhich. We both LOVE a good sandwhich!

I think we'll go ahead and skip the Ak this time since it's a short trip. We do love AK, though. When we were there in May, we probably spent more time at AK than any other park, and we will spend quite a bit of time there on our long December trip. It's actually one of our favorite parks! The only reason we aren't doing it on this short trip is because we really enjoy taking our time and spending the whole day exploring there.

Thanks for taking the time to look over our plan!

Planogirl - Definately try to squeeze in some time at the Boardwalk. We love it there! We always make sure to spend an evening eating and shopping there, no matter where we are staying. We love the strolling entertainment and Jelly Rolls is so much fun (although that's out for us until DS is old enough for the Kids Club).
