Reading one more time through our trip paperwork.

So ... after we check in at RPR, we have to:

• Go to a kiosk to get our tickets.

• Go to a kiosk to get our Express Passes.

• Go to a kiosk to get our Photo Connect ticket.

• Go to a kiosk to get our Star Card.

And not, generally, the same kiosk.

Is this really the case? My head is spinning.

The kiosk for Express Passes is located in an area adjacent to the front desk at RPR. In this same area, there is another kiosk where you can print out your park tickets.

The "Star Card" and "Photo Connect ticket" are one and the same. Visit the Photo Connect location inside either park to receive your Star Card.

Ah. The documentation I have says to get the Photo Connect ticket and THEN get the Star Card.

Huh. I've always just printed out the email confirmation with the bar code and brought that in to the Photo Connect store! I've never had any problems.

^^^ Is this part of a package? If so, if there is a "Photo Connect card," I'd imagine that it will spit out of the machine with your park tickets and any other items that are part of the package!

This is definitely one area where Disney has Universal beaten like a rented mule. One magic band that has your fast pass info, park ticket, room key, photopass, etc all on it is totally better than the multiple (and in some cases paper flimsy) cards that you carry at Universal. But it isn't as complicated as it seems. All pretty quick and easy.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more unity on those cards. However, the fact that the parks and the hotels and the photo connect are separate entities makes the whole amalgamation a bit more difficult. At Disney, they own everything, so it is a simpler process.

Do you know if HRH has the same kiosk to print park tickets? I booked a package through Universal and my paperwork instructs me to print my park tickets at the kiosks outside of the parks (or to go to will call). I would much rather print the tickets at the hotel since we're getting into Orlando late and want to do early entrance the next morning.

As you go in the front door, the ticket kiosk is to the left at the end of the desks. The check-in desks are to the right.

Is it possible to just get a hard ticket? Granddaughter will not have a credit card!

Thanks. Can you tell me the difference in the 2-day with extra day and the 3 day tickets?

The number of cards I had to juggle at Universal was a definite down-side, although it didn't make me not enjoy my trip or anything. But definitely annoying. (Star Card, room key, ticket, express pass)

We keep these in a lanyard........no issues. Park ticket comes out as you enter park........EP scans through plastic.......room key to get in room.........

I guess I don't see what bothers folks about doing that.

In the clear plastic sleeve on my lanyard, I put my Express Pass and Star Card facing OUT, and then my ticket/AP and room key sandwiched between them. The ticket/AP only needs to come out when you're entering the park (or riding the Hogwarts Express), and other than that, it's easy to simply have the EP and Star Card scanned right through the clear plastic. Easy-peasy. :-)
