October is Cardmaking Month.....

Who here makes cards? Is there a particular theme card that you always make or do you do all occasion cards? Do you give your cards out or do you keep everything you make?

I make general greeting cards: baby cards, thank yous, birthday. Sometimes I use neutral colored cards and envelopes that I buy, other times I start from scratch with cardstock and ready make envelopes. I like have cards on hand so I've done various ones to keep handy when the need pops up.

I have a friend who makes cards that are truly works of art to give for birthdays or thank yous to family and friends. My mom makes cards and keeps them for herself, she likes them too much to give away. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: that is too funny, my mom does the same thing! I guess since it is cardmaking month I should add making my christmas cards to the to do list eh? :rotfl2: (that list just keeps getting longer and longer... decorating for halloween, elf blogging, project 365... sigh)

I love to make cards! I do all occasion, but sometimes if I need a particular one, I'll do a few of that same kind. My sister loves giving my cards away, so she's my best customer...But, she doesn't pay me anything... :confused3 She would, but I won't let her ;)

Since it's card making month, I think I'll try to do a few each week!

I might make a start on Christmas cards as its cardmaking month:thumbsup2 I've got a start from the card swap, so I only need, oh, about another million:rotfl2:

In honor of card making month I will start a thread on 10/1 for a card making challenge, like the monthly page challenge. Maybe this will help boost the numbers for the cards for soldiers swap.

On that topic, the stamp store I frequent was on Fox 61 News this week for a story on their cards for soldier night. Last year the coordinator shipped 14,000 cards over seas!

look for the real story, cards for soldiers. Very moving story!

Wow, that is a neat story and a neat store. I am going to have to check that out!

I have just recently started making cards. I have been doing birthday, thank you and a thinking of you. I wish I could get a little ahead and have a few in reserve. But don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. ;)

I love to make cards - but mine are pretty simple and I just can't seem to get ahead. I'd be happy to just keep up with the birthday cards.

I love making cards!

I just made a bunch of cards for a craft fair at work. I sold 7 or 8 and have 23 left. Luckily, all the cards I made are cards I like so I'm ahead, for the first time. No more finishing up the card as we're leaving for the party! At least until these run out.

LindaBabe's cards are adorable. I was the happy recipient of a birthday card this week. I smile each time I look at it on my kitchen window sill.:lovestruc

Why, Thank you, Lisa! That makes ME smile.

Back when we used to have an LSS, she'd run a card classes every month. Everything would be precut and we'd crank out 20-30 cards in a day and have lunch, all for $40. I always had a card when I needed it, and it was a fun fun fun day out. I miss it. Can't seem to get motivated to do it on my own.

so your birthday was this past week???
;)

OOOh, I want to get in on this. Ok, her birthday is not today but it is in September! ;) How is that for narrowing it down even more! :lmao:

Lisa, at least I did not tell them which day it was. They still have a 50/50 chance! :rotfl::rotfl2:;):rolleyes1

Okay, it's either the 29th (the day my Nammie died :( ) or the 30th (the day I bought my house and my nieces b-day).

Sorry, jennifer, it is on Nammie's day. :/

It was also my great aunt's birthday. We loved sharing our days together.
