HI Everyone!!

I really need some help/advice as I have been slapped up to a brick wall :rotfl2:

Some of you may know that my DS (Sam) was mascot for the West Ham V Middlesbrough game on Easter Monday at Middlesbrough as we are big West Ham fans!!...He had the best day of his life and it was brilliant!. He met all the players and also Alan Pardew the West Ham Mangager....very sweetly Sam asked Alan if we got the the final of the FA cup would he get him a ticket!!....we all laughed etc. As you might know we have made the final of the cup. I had told Sam as we are not season ticket holders we had no chance of getting tickets.....today I had a phone call from West Ham stating Alan had remembered his promise and there are 2 tickets for us!!. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!!. :cool1:

However I cant find any available accomadation for Sam and I overnight in Cardiff on the 13th May...as its all booked up!!. I have tried all the usual websites etc. Its impossible to do it in one day as I need to get a train as we live in Middlesbrough so its a 6 hour train journey to Cardiff and there is not a train to return on!!

Has anyone get any ideas on any other way to book a hotel....does anyone live local and maybe knows a hotel which may have a room??

I am so desperate as this will so a perfect day for us...any advice or ideas would be gratefully recieved!! :sunny:

That's so exciting! How wonderful that he remembered!

You could try to get a room in Newport - there is a train station here, and it's only just over 10 mins to Cardiff - there is a Hilton (quite nice), Holiday Inn (not so nice), and the Celtic Manor which is lovely but may be fully booked? They are all about a 10 minute taxi ride from the railway station.

If you don't get any joy, post again and we'll have another think.

You would be more than welcome to stay with us if you get stuck, but it would be a sofa bed I'm afraid (and we're Liverpool fans, but we would promise not to mention it very much!). Remember, the offer is there if you need it.

I just had a quick look - the Celtic Manor is fully booked, but there is availability at the Hilton in Newport on the hilton.uk website. It's well situated just off junction 24 of the M4, so if you're driving it's very convenient to get to and to get to Cardiff - it's also only a 10 min taxi ride to the railway station and then another 10 mins or so to the centre of Cardiff - the Millennium Stadium is a few minutes walk away in the centre of town.

Hope that helps.

I am not driving down as its such a long drive and I am to scared when I am on my own with Sam  ...I know I am pathetic bit I just panic incase I get stranded or breakdown!!!

Newport does seem an option are the trains regular...do you know if the stadium is far from Cardiff train station??
Sorry for all the questions!! :)

Jane

The stadium is right across the road from the train station, less than a five min walk :thumbsup2

The trains are very regular - maybe every 10 - 15 mins or so on a matchday - or any Saturday.

The Hilton is quite a nice hotel - it has a gym and I think it has a pool. There is a McDonalds and a Beefeater just across the road too. It would cost you around £7 - 10 to get a taxi to and from Newport station. The train fare to Cardiff is around £4 return. And as Sue says, the stadium is just a few minutes walk from Cardiff Station, it's right in the city centre.

Let us know if you need any more information - or somewhere to stay!!

WOW Good for Alan Pardew and good for Sam (it never hurts to ask ;) )

Hope you have managed to sort something. I'd have begged a bed (or 2) with the inlaws for you but I'm afraid they are on holiday (as Boro fans they must have either known that they've weren't going to win the semi or more likely that they'd never get tickets :teeth: )

Let us know how you get on and I am so thrilled for you :sunny:

I am a Liverpool fan and will be at the game too, probably going to drive there and back in the same day though, can be difficult finding accomodation cup final weekend.

Whatever the result, have a great day.
