Anyone know if this new shop is open yet? We arrive at WDW next week, and I'm dying to try the freshly made caramel corn!popcorn::

That is great! Can someone tell me where it will be located?

Whoohoo I didn't even know about this! I love the caramel corn at Disneyland/DCA. I will definitely check this out.

Hope it's on the SC plan!

Okay, so I did a little searching and found this on another board

One shop at Epcot will close this fall (2009)to make room for another. In the Germany Pavilion, the "Glas und Porzellan" shop will close and in late September "Karamelle-Kuche" (Caramel Kitchen) will open in its place. The new shop wil resemble an Old World German caramel shop. Among the offerings will be fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel-covered strawberries and marshmallows, all handmade by cast members in the shop's show kitchen. This new store will be the world's only free-standing retail location for Storck, who are the makers of Werther's Original candies. Because of this, some products will be available here that are not available anywhere else. Other items for sale include gourmet caramels, cookies, brownies, fudge and cupcakes.

This is definitely worth checking out! Caramel apples and caramel corn. Yum!

And some more info-
…We have a little more information about the Werther's Candy Shop we told you about last month that's opening in Epcot's Germany pavilion this fall. The official name will be Karamelle-Küche, which is German for “caramel kitchen” and it will replace the Glas und Porzellan shop. Cast members will make fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel-covered strawberries and marshmallows in a show kitchen in the shop. You'll also be able to buy gourmet snacks including fudge, brownies, cupcakes, cookies and, of course, caramels. Storck, makers of Werther’s Original Caramels, are behind the shop, and since it's their only free-standing retail location in the world, you'll be able to find some unique items there in addition to the usual Werther's Original candy. The location is expected to open in late September, in time for this fall's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Thanks for the research Disneydaz! I cannot wait to indulge in these caramel treats. I love all things caramel.

Did not know this!!! Very excited about this news since who doesn't love caramel corn and apples!! Can't wait to try some in January!:thumbsup2

I was really bummed when Sleepy Hollow stopped making fresh caramel corn (was a tradition to get a big bucket of it), so I am really excited that this shop is coming :thumbsup2

OOOO... caramel covered marshmallows and strawberries!? Oh my, this could be dangerous.

Is anyone absolutely, positively, guaranteed for SURE that the opening is 9/22? We're going to Epcot very soon - and b/c we planned to use basic, non-hopper tickets and booked ADRs ages ago, we're only going to be in Epcot 9/20 and 9/21.

******whiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnee********

Please, please, someone tell me I can eat gooey caramel goodness one of those days?

Officially switching to *pouting* if I can't!

Oh man I am excited. I love Storck candy. And who doesn't love fresh caramel corn? So glad to see it will be open in time for my trip.

We just got back a few days ago. Sad to report that the Cararmel Shop did not open before the F & W. We were there on Wed. 9/29, and the shop was closed. When we were there on Friday, the 1st, the shop was open (and crowded) We didn't get anything there since we didn't want to wait but there were items on the menu you could use a SC for, including a small caramel corn.:goodvibes

Went on Tues Oct 5 and ordered a chocolate covered caramel drizzled strawberry, caramel apple, bag of Werther's caramels (DS had to have it) and an almond cluster...yum! I'm not a caramel corn fan, but it looked good. Also saw a box of one of my favs, Toffifay. Line was loooong and shop was trying to keep up with orders after running out of items.

The new caramel shop is considered a regular Disney merchandise shop so discounts may apply. I was able to show my Premium AP for a 20% discount on my caramel popcorn (uh... and cookie.. and cupcake).
