Trying to get some opinions on this. We're staying on property so i'm not really worried about riding the bus with my baby not in a car seat. However, at least two days of our vacation we will be taking a taxi to Universal Studios. I'm not sure if i'd feel comfortable with riding in a taxi with her not in a car seat. The other issue though is if we take the car seat we are then forced to carry it around all day. I'm hoping there is an easy solution to this.

Maybe a locker? How far are you going? I'm a bit of a carseat nut so that would drive me crazy too, only in an extreme emergency would I ever be in a car without one. We are driving, so I don't have much experience. So sorry!!!

Some taxis have car seats, usually kept in the trunk until needed. When you request the taxi, tell them you will need a car seat.

Great info, thank you. Perhaps i'll call around a few weeks ahead of time to see which company would best be able to accommodate this type of request so we're not trying to figure it out on the fly.

I'm sure you can just call the front desk the night before and tell them you need a cab in the morning with a car seat. With many people having early ADRs, in sure this comes up a lot

In case it is important to you, it is not recommended that you rent/borrow a car seat from a taxi or rental company. There is no way to know if it has been damaged or cared for properly, etc. Plus, I wouldn't trust the driver to install it and I wouldn't want to in tall w/o the manual.

I would probably call universal to see if there is a way to store the car seat during the day when you are at the park. Or you could see about renting a car for those 2 days. Or you could see if there are any bus transportation options in which a car seat wouldn't be needed.

Like I said, I know some people don't care about renting a seat, but it is not recommended.

Just an FYI for everyone. I called Disney last night and was told that the resorts don't have them and the taxi's don't have them (called Mears and they confirmed this). My options are either rent a car, rent a car seat and try and find storage at universal, or drag my stroller/carseat all the way to Flordia. Our carseat will snap into the stroller but my concern there is that baby will probably be pretty uncomfortable after an hour or so. I'll probably reach out to Universal today and look in to the storage option.

My experience was that the car taxis don't have car seats but I got the bell hop to call me one with car seats and they sent a van. It had I believe 2 car seats and 2 boosters. This could have changed though but I think I would call back and talk to someone else to be sure.

We use mears transportation and rent car seat from them. We did this last November and both car seats where in good condition. I believe it was $10 per car seat.

I would never use a seat that I didn't know the history of. You never know if the seat has been in an accident or had the straps washed. Just not a chance I would take. I would recommend renting a car for those few days. I'm assuming you're flying, does the baby have a seat on the plane? Having a lap baby on a plane can be dangerous too.

Does your child have a seat on the plane? I am not sure how old they child is but you can always bring an infant car seat into the plane. They will fit in the overhead. Personally, I've had an awful experience with using a rental car seat. Never again. In fact, we buy an extra seat just for travel now.
