I realize this is off topic and apologize for that, but know there are some folks out there with incredible knowledge regarding car seats. We have decided we would like to purchase a Britax Regent. However, there is no way for us to test fit one in our vehicle (a 2002 Toyota Highlander). Before we order one and have it shipped here, I wanted to see if anyone else has any experience with putting the Regent in a Highlander. I have not had success finding this match up (Highlander to Britax) elsewhere on the internet, but am hopeful some of you great DISers can help!

Thanks in advance!

I LOVE the Regant (I have a husky older verstion) there isn't any change just a more PC name!

I had a Toyota SIENNA and Britax husky and it fit without a problem.

We have had it in several cars now and it fits fine (even in my moms corolla)

The thing to consider is it is wide, so if you sit 3 kids across that does not work. It is sort of like 2 1/2 seats I guess. Now even in my moms corolla she can fit a husky and parkway without a problem there is just no room in the middle.

Hope that helps!

I can't help you out too much but just want to say if at all possible try and find someone with one to try. I bought the Britax Boulevard and still have it sitting here, won't go in car right and can't return! Never even used. And read return policies really well. I bought from a place that said it couldn't be returned if used, well they consider cutting the box open as used!

I just spent an extra $40 on a Recaro so if it didn't work I could take it back to target! Really still want either a Regent or new Recaro in May but so leary of not being able to try them, especially because they are so large from what I understand.

great car seat rescource is www.car-seat.org w/ a forum full of techs that can help ya out, also the regent is out of stock almost everywhere but someone there just posted about finding about 20 of them on a website that has them instock and you don't have to wait the 2-6 weeks like most of the sites are right now...

Nothing to add....just wanted to say I just ordered one for my son (March delivery). He is a 100th percentile kid so we took the plunge and ordered the larger seat since he is already outgrowing his Alpha Omega. We have a Marathon in our Corolla and LOVE it. We are putting the Regent in our Ford Escape, and it is just him back there so not concerned about the size.

I think the width of the seat is the concern, so it depends on what else you need to put in the back seat too, the seat should easily fit in a highlander. Maybe you could do a search on the Husky (previous name) and Highlander (or similar sized vehicle).

Thank you all for your great help and knowledge. I did finally find one locally to try in the car and it fit. Boy is it big though! Now my problem is getting them! I put money down on two, but now have been told they won't be here until May. DD should still be able to fit in her current one fine until then, but someone else wanted ours and they may not be able to wait. Oh the fun!

www.babylove.com has Regents(thanks to a great disboards lady!). I just ordered one for my son:cool1:
Be warned the shipping is outrageous though. I paid $110 to ship to Alaska. But I really wanted this seat and I cannot put a dollar amount on my son's life:love: I also have a big boy so this seat will be perfect.
I have a 2006 Sierra with a Parkway and Regent and hopefully there will still be room!

I forgot to add that shipping was supposed to be $35 if you lived on the east coast from babylove.com
