Car rentals

They use to offer a rental program, but it was always more than you could get on your own.
We use dollar now, Alamo/National are on site at the Car Care Center and Dolphin, but their prices are 30%+ higher than dollar.

Keep checking the rates, they may go down. Book a car, but don't pay, then you can cancel it if you get a better rate.

I almost always get my best rate with Costco.

I second this. Costco is hands down the cheapest I've found for car rentals. A member has to make the reservation but they can enter in any name. I've made reservations for friends and parents, all of whom do not have Costco memberships.

You don't need to login to search, so it's worth checking out.

Costco generally gets us the best rate also. And usually booking in the 4-6 week range prior to pick up.

I just recently used priceline name your price. The cheapest for a standard size car through Costco was $248. I got it for $176 through priceline. Only issue with using priceline name your price is that I don't think you can cancel or modify.

We live in Maine so we don't have a Costco. I did double check this morning with AAA and the price went down 12.00 so I cancelled to rebook at 438.34. I'm going to look at priceline. Never used that before. Thank you everyone!

FYI - you can purchase a Costco membership online. The closest Costco to us is over 2.5 hours away. I purchased a membership online a couple of years ago for $60 in order to rent cars through them. The amount we saved on a couple of rentals that year made up for the membership costs. Heck, the free extra driver they offer as part of the price alone paid for the membership - $12 for a 7 day rental otherwise! You can check the price online to see what it comes up with without having a membership. Very handy to see if it's worth it!

Thank you . I did look up the price for a mini van thru Costco . AAA is still the cheapest. at 438.00 round trip mileage free, and another driver free. Seems like I have a good deal so far until codes come out?
Thank you everyone!

I got a quote recently from Costco and then through Alamo Insiders for a week in this Dec. and Alamo insiders for same time of day checking, same car and same site (car care center) was over $100 cheaper then Costco
