Car Rentals @ Orlando Airport?

I always favor National over all others, though I rent from others if there is a big difference in the rate. If the rate is just a little higher, I'll pay more to stay with them. I've never had an unpleasant surprise. The rental is always to the penny what I was quoted. Others try to sell you things you don't need, charge for extra drivers, or keep you waiting forever for a car. I've never had a bad experience with National in any city or even in foreign countries.

National also is more reasonable on geographic restrictions. I took a cheap rate from Dollar in Denver once only to discover that we weren't allowed to take the vehicle out of the state. So much for a quick trip to New Mexico.

When we went to Canada this summer, several of the rental companies had extra fees for going into a second province. Not so National.

When we went across the border into Canada from Montana a few years ago, it was no problem with National.

I've had good luck with alamo. we rent at airport, visit family and return at the dolphin when we get to disney, then take ME back to airport at end of trip. never any trouble. if you join alamo and prepay you can print agreement at home and skip the line as well, no extra fee.

We just got a GREAT deal with budget and they are onsite. we plugged in the anniversary code u110900 and it was approx. $200+ in savings. We will have an intermediate rental for 9 days and we are only paying $232 after all fees/taxes.

I just checked again and their rates are increasing so the same car is not as low-priced as it was last week when I rented it, but still under 300

Oh, if you aren't lucky with one of the airport places you could always (depending on who you are traveling with) take a cab to the enterprise place down the street and rent on there. According to my dad they are much more affordable than any rental at the airport...but, they cannot come and pick you up at the airport so you have to either take a cab to them or take the ME or Mears to your resort and they will bring a car to you. IMO, I'd rather pay a few extra for the convenience of renting at the airport.

thanks all -- so I clicked on National via the Costco travel website and got a standard SUV for 295.20 USD for 8 days. Much better then I was anticipating, phew!

eta: that is p/u at MCO too...

I just rented a mid-size from advantage for $129 for the week, that includes all taxes and fee's. It is off site, but they shuttle you

rented from dollar in march and got it for under 200.00 for the week.
