Car rentals, Feb rates

I've done everything I can think of to get a decent price on a weekend rental Feb 24-27. I need to drop off at Cape Canaveral, but have done this before w/o penalty. The best price I've been able to get is $61 per day with my Costco membership discount. Doesn't this seem outragous???

Also, Costco gave me a coupon for a free day on the weekend rental, but when I called budget they said I can't use it due to the drop off. It doesn't say this anywhere on the coupon's fine print. Any ideas???

National Car. American Express contract ID from MouseSavers. Base Rate of around $92 for your dates. With taxes and surcharges it comes to under $120 for the 4 days.

aka...Wow, now that is much better. Question, does contract ID mean just using my amex to pay, or is this actually a discount code? How would I enter that on the ressie?

Also, not sure if National has a drop off in Canaveral. I'm checking on that next. Thanks.

Ok, found out there is a drop off in Cocoa Beach. Tried to reserve online by putting amex in contract id space, but got a rate of $73. UGH!! What am I doing wrong

Thanks for the info mad4themouse! I had a ressie w/ Alamo using some discounts for week of 2/20-2/27 & the cheapest by far was $356. However, with your info--i was able to save over $100 more!! I missed that on the mousesavers letter! THanks again! Deb

Do you need to show a valid AMEX card when picking-up car?

I wouldn't use the code if I didn't have an AMEX card. There's always the possibility that they will ask to see it, even if you're not using it to rent the vehicle.
