car rental ?

I have booked our rental car in my name through Alamo. I am now thinking I should have put it in my husband's name as he will be doing most of the driving. Is this a big deal? Should I bother to change it? Does Alamo charge a second driver fee? I am afraid if I make any chnages to my ressie I will lose my good rate. Any advice?

Additional Authorized Drivers
Additional drivers on rentals that will be paid using a credit card are required to present their valid driver's license(s) and be present to sign the rental agreement.

Additional drivers on rentals that will be paid using a cash deposit (See 'Cash, Renting With') are permitted as long as they present their major Alamo honored credit card. All additional drivers must be present to show their driver's licenses and sign the rental agreement. Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the Primary driver

Spouses acting as the additional driver on cash rentals and are not required to have a separate credit card.

An Additional Driver fee is required at most locations.

Greenville, SC - This location requires any additional drivers to present a major credit card at time of rental.

New York: All Manhattan locations require any additional drivers be present to sign the rental agreement and present a major credit card.

Locations in Canada, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean have unlimited additional drivers.

A maximum of 2 additional drivers is permitted per rental for all other locations.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but ...Does this mean we can both be listed without an additional fee? I didn't see anything about a fee. I appreciate any input

Do you have your original reservation printed out? We've used Alamo about 8 times and NEVER had to pay an extra fee for additional driver. On our reservation, where it lists the fees, in bold it says "Inclusive Rate Items" under that is listed (1) additional driver and Unlimited Miles.

Just so you know, you both need to be at the reservation counter, need to show ID, and sign the contract.

Have you tried to create a new reservation to check the rate? Mine went down $5.00 today. I thought it had been automatically credited before, but I had to rebook to save it.
