Car Rental

I am staying at OKW in January. I need to rent a car for one day. Is there a car rental near OKW or even near Magic Kingdom? We need it for the evening of 1/21/08 after we spend the day at MK.

I believe there is a Nationals car rental just outside of the MK gateway.

There are two onsite auto rental locations at WDW. One, as described, is at the MK care care center and the other is at the Dolphin. The MK center will provide transportation to the center. Both offer National/Alamo rentals and may be reserved in advance for onsite pickup.

In addition to Alamo/National, most of the other major car rental agencies have locations on WDW property - mostly at one of the hotels at hotel plaza right next to Down Town Disney. You may want to check on them as well. We often rent from Avis, which has a place in the Hilton, and they do have a courtesy shuttle that will pick you up and return you to your hotel.

We rented from National/Alamo at the Car Care Center located near the entrance of the MK last year. There was a shuttle that picked us up in front of Boardwalk. You have to arrange the shuttle a day in advance. The official car rental at Disney now, if I am not mistaken, is Alamo.

For our trip in September this year we wanted to stay with National as my husband is a frequent renter. We rented from National at the Buena Vista Palace located just across the exit driveway from Saratoga Springs. There is no courtesy shuttle from there as far as I know. The service was very good at both locations.

We usually rent from Alamo or National and pick up the car at the Dolphin. I was suprised this past trip in September to find that doing that was cheaper than at the car care center. We have also used Dollar at the Grosvenor Hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. The thing you need to keep in mind is that they have different hours and some of them close at 3 or 4 PM for pick up. I have used the codes available on mousesavers to get the best prices so far. Since you want it for a specific time set your pick up and drop off times accordingly.
