When leave Disney we are going to drive to Ft Lauderdale to visit family for 3 days (beach time). Can I rent a car at my Disney hotel (POR)? If so, who is the least expensive? It will be a one way trip because we are flying out of Ft. Lauderdale to go home. Any advise????

No, you can't rent right at POR. There are several options open to you though. You could head to the Dolphin and rent either Alamo or National there. You could plan on taking the bus to MGM that day, and just taking either the boat or walkway to the Dolphin. Or....
you could take the boat to DTD. There are a lot of car rental companies within the DTD hotels. I believe some of them will also have a shuttle come to your resort and bring you to the office.
Or...you could book Alamo at the Car Care Center over close to the entrance to MK. You can call them the night before your rental day and arrange a time for them to pick you up and take you to the CCC.
Costs will vary depending on time of year, day, size of car, if you have any special discounts, etc.

We are renting from Dollar and we are staying at POR. We are going to call them and they will pick us up. If that doesn't work, my dh will just take a cab over to Goversnor Resort.
