car rental with kids

We are going to SSR on 10-13 and were thinking about renting a car for a few says. I know you can be picked uo at your resort to rent, has anyone done this and can I rent car/booster seats?

Yes you can rent car seats, and it is somewhere around $5-10/day per seat...they aren't the greatest seats either. I highly recommend bringing bleach wipes to clean them up a bit. We rented from Dollar and rented a car seat too on our last trip. They bring it out all wrapped in plastic so I'm thinking - cool! It's gonna be NICE. Then the guy unwraps it and I almost fainted! The thing was about as old as I am and DIRTY! This trip we are bringing our own carseats...but for just a few days you should be okay renting them...we are going for 11 days and having a car that long!

I will be shocked if you can find a car or booster seat for less than $9-$10 per day. We have always paid at least that.
One thing you can try is renting a minivan that already has carseats built in. We rented once from Thrifty and the car seat was part of the van. That way it didn't cost us extra, and you don't have to worry about the seat being dirty.
Not sure what rental cos. offer this but a quick call or e-mail and they'll tell you.

Just a FYI:
Avis car seat or booster- The cost of the Child Safety Seat is $8 per day, $40 per week or $50 per rental.
Happily, there are others with reasonable rates on these items.
