Car rental with Costco codes...

If you book your car rental using codes provided on Costco.com and you are a member, what do you have to provide as proof at the rental desk? I assume your Costco membership card but how do you prove the discount codes? Thanks.

We have rented cars through Costco/Alamo several times and we have never had to show anything. We always print out our reservation with the codes in it and the total price showing. We have our card ready but have never been asked to show anything more. The price has always been what was listed on our reservation...usually a very good deal!

A few years ago I reserved a car from the Los Angeles airport, I think it was Discount but not totally sure about the company. I used the Mousesavers strategies to get the best price, including applying the Entertainment Book discount and got an unheard of fantastic price, $87 for 7 days, all taxes and fees included.

When we went to return the car the clerk told us they didn't give a discount for the Entertainment Book so I produced the email and printout from the online reservation and within 10 minutes they happily agreed to honoured it. So the lesson I learned is that being obsessive and carrying paper copies of confirmations makes travelling better!

I looked at the Costco.ca site and they list either Budget or Avis as rentals agencies. Has anyone used either of these and what kind of prices did you get for a full size car ?

and then booked directly on Alamo. Right now I am looking at a standard car for 10 days at $168.80 with all taxes incl. I believe that at MCO they don't have standard cars so you get to choose from the full size aisle, although I may be recalling this info. incorrectly. Believe that's what I read in a post a while back. Hope the rates will continue to go down as we are going early Feb. The rates already started coming down after we booked last night. Hope this helps.

After a few wonderful people on here, we have been watching every night to, and with in 24hr we were able to upgrade the car for the same price as the night before.... so just watching now!
