is there a difference in rental rates for the same car/same time frame/same company if you are renting (picking up and dropping off) from the airport as opposed to renting at the car care center at WDW? or one of the DTD resorts that has car rental onsite?

Yes. And there is no rule of thumb that one is always cheaper than the other. All you can do is check and compare.

I'm not 100% sure, but are there not taxes added on when renting at the airport that are not added on when renting off site? This might affect the price.

That is correct, but in many cases the base rate at the airport is much lower, so the total may be lower at the airport.

It really needs to be checked on a case-by-case basis as I've stated.

On our last trip we used ME from MCO to our resort. The next morning we rented a car from CCC...complimentary shuttle picked us up at CSR. This way we were able to go directly to the ME bus and let Disney handle our luggage. We rented the car from Alamo and got a great rate using an Amex code. We rented at CCC with drop off at MCO. We saved a day's rental fee and yet we had a car all week. And instead of having to take the ME bus 3 hours ahead of our flight, we got to spend some extra time at DD before driving to the airport. It worked out great!

Last month, I had a car reserved at the Dolphin, to return it three days later at Tampa Intnl. But, I found that I had to go to MCO to meet my dd, and then drive to Tampa. While checking rental prices at MCO I found that it was actually cheaper for me to have my towncar company drive me back to MCO and then rent the car there, rather than rent at the Dolphin. I can't remember what the exact difference was but it had to be at least $50 less since that's what the towncar company charged me, and I didn't have to pay to park as I would have had to do if I rented at the Dolphin and drove to MCO before heading to Tampa.
I think you really have to just run all the different scenarios and then make a call as to what is going to work better, and more cheaply, for you.

Hi, looking for car rental codes for Alamo mid size for May 12-19. Can anyone help. I would also consider other car company's if you had codes.

Ps is this a good time to go to Disney?

What is the best rate you found so far so we don't duplicate your efforts? Do you need to use Alamo specifically or are you looking for the best price overall?
