Car rental rate dropped, reprice your reservation

If you don't mind - what rental Company are you using and what month is your rental?
Thanks!

Budget, for this coming holiday week. I originally booked the reservation couple months ago. Appears that either they got an infusion of cars at the last minute or bookings didnt pan out as expected, thus the $100+ drop. Appears to be the case for other car companies as well.

I just rebooked a week-long Alamo through Costco rental that begins Monday, 7/5. Price dropped $75 for a full size. Second price drop this week where I’ve rebooked.

Thanks for posting. No change in price for my August trip (actually $100 more), but a good reminder to keep checking. Glad you got some savings, maybe there's hope for the rest of us!

Agree, my August and end of September have only shown higher prices than I already have. But notice now they don’t say B is closed, so now that both A and B garages will have cars, maybe it will drive the price down soon, and lessen the line at the counters. Hope, anyway, but thanks for the reminder to keep rinse and repeating to get the lowest price up until rental time.

I don't expect to see prices decrease anytime soon until the rental companies restock their car supply. With car manufacturers low on cars and most of those going to their dealers first, then to rental companies, I don't see that happening for a while. Still hoping I'm wrong.

I've got a 9 day rental end of Sept through Costco with Alamo. Rates briefly dropped to $609 now it's back to $650. I wish they would open the rental place at the Dolphin, if they do that I will go back to rentals on either end of our trip. I do have a couple shorter rentals already booked using the car care center but not sure I want to take the time to go back and forth even if it saves some money.

It's not for Orlando, but a month ago I booked through Costco (Alamo) for a 2 day weekend rental for August (pick up Fort Myers airport). Original price was $435. I check daily since I booked and have rebooked 8 times so far, with the price currently at $310 ($125 drop). Have another rental coming up in 2 weeks for Denver airport (2 day weekend rental). Booked through Costco (Budget, full size car) for $383. Have rebooked 3 times so far, with the price currently at $246 ($137 drop). I know it depends on destination/pick up/drop off with rates going up before possibly coming down, but keep checking daily as it is possible for rates to decrease.

Keep checking until you pick up the car. I have a reservation with Alamo for pick up tomorrow at 10pm and just booked a new reservation today for $100 less! Initially our 4 day Alamo reservation was $480 and now it is $272 . Don't give up!

I agree! Since my post on Wednesday, our Denver rental went down again. It's now $223, down from $246.

thats good news.
Checked our 2 Orlando trips and those prices are only going one direction, and it isn't down (so far, still hoping).

Not sure how close your trip is, but don't give up hope just yet. Over the last 8-10 months I've seen prices start high and then come down over time. I've also seen some rental companies (Alamo, for one) not have any availability at some places, but then over time availability pops up and is most times cheaper than other companies. We have a 5 day rental in Vegas for Oct for $600 that I booked about a month ago. I keep checking daily, but so far it hasn't changed up or down. We're there during a busy time as there's a few things going on that weekend into the next week that is drawing a lot of people, but I'm trying to stay positive and hoping the cost will come down. It's just crazy how high some of these rates are :(.

We have 3 months to go, but not really hopeful the price will drop. Glad I had one rented months ago at about half of current prices.
It definitely didn't happen in April.
Posts that I read, don't show a big excess of rental cars at the Orland Airport.. Still hoping.

I just rechecked my one night rental in August through Costco and was able to rebook for $24 cheaper.

I just checked and the rates are the same for me, but our trip isn’t until early next year. Hopefully, rates will go down as we get closer.
