Car Rental Question

For reasons I won't go into here, I do not use credit cards, don't have any. Don't want any. Have managed for 5 years without the things.

However, during my next trip, I will need to rent a car at MCO. (Attending a conference at CSR and could only get a room at CBR). Can't use Disney Transportation because some conference events start early AM (7ish) before their regular operating hours.

Do any of the Rental Car agencies, on or off-site at the airport, accept debit cards for rental pick up? Would be willing to bluff or bluster my way through, but if anyone has a history of success with a particular company, it would be a definite confidence-builder!

If you are a member of Hertz #1 Gold or Express you can use a debit card for rentals as long as the debit card is listed in your profile.

I do it all the time with no problems.

budget excepts debit cards. Sign up for their fastbreak and put your debit card on file with them. They only require a 200 dollar securement or the cost of your rental plus 25 percent. The will hold against your debit card which ever is greater. they put the hold against your card the day of the rental infact it is before you even get to your destination. Then when you get to the orlando airport you get to go straight to the garage to pickup your keys and drive away in your car. It is so nice that you don't have to wait in those long lines and sign all those papers. When you sign-up for fastbreak, your spouse is able to drive the vehicle at no extra charge.

budget is on site at the airport. So you will have no problem renting from the airport.

FYI I got a fabulous rate from budget. It was 146.20 taxes included for a one week rental. I got a full size vehicle which should be a ford taurus or similiar type. My dates are may 22, 2005 - may 29, 2005

Thanks so much! I was really getting worried. I have signed up for Budget's FastBreak, and DH is already in Hertz, so I just changed the card on file. Now to find a great rate for my week!

Am I doing something wrong? I am signing up for it and it says Budget does not accept the use of a debit card on a Fastbreak profile.

budget is not accepting debit cards anymore, just credit cards.
