Car rental question

Hi,

We just booked with Sunwing..have never done this before. We always done all the individual booking ourselves. We are getting a minivan with our package and I am afraid there will be a bunch of hidden costs at the car rental place. Last time I ended up paying a ton for insurance and all kids of other stuff..the guy at the counter said it was all mandatory.

Our agent says the only thing that is mandatory are the taxes and to contact our insurance company to get a "rider". no idea what that is..just really don't want to get hosed by the rental company again. Thoughts??

We have contacted our car insurance and ask if we are covered for a rental car in the States. They have said we are except if we rent a porshe/expensive type of car.

When we rented a car in Britain, we were not covered under our car insurance.
