Car Rental or Cab ?

Does anyone know if there is an outlet mall or a good size mall quite close to Disney. We are not planning on renting a car and are wondering if taking a cab to the mall is realistic. We nly want to spend maybe half a day off the Disney property and don't figure renting a car is worth it.

Does anyone know if there is an outlet mall or a good size mall quite close to Disney. We are not planning on renting a car and are wondering if taking a cab to the mall is realistic. We nly want to spend maybe half a day off the Disney property and don't figure renting a car is worth it.

During our trip this year we wanted to go an outlet mall but did not want to rent a car so we took a taxi to the Lake Buena Vista Outlet mall and shopped til we dropped. The lady at the check in counter had a list of approx. taxi fares to various places that she got from the taxi company and to go to this mall the cost she had was $17. Before we got into the cab, I asked the driver if he would take us to the mall for $17 that was on the list; he told me that he would go for the $17 or the meter, whichever we wanted - I went for the $17 (just in case).When we got to the mall, I paid him $20 and he gave me his card to phone him when we were ready to leave. When we were finished shopping, I called him on his cell phone and he was there within 10 min. to pick us up. I thought it was kind of funny when he asked us to wait for him to pick us up, but another cab stopped for us, but I told the driver no thank you. (It wasn't even Yellow Cab like our driver worked for). Our cab driver was really nice and made our trip to the mall very pleasant.

If you are not planning on going off property that much, I would save the money and use a cab. As PP stated, it is not that far to the outlet mall.
